When Tele Tete summoned Physalis Alkekengi again after more than eighteen years, the danovus lady grumpily experienced that the hegin had once again managed to call her with such force that it only pulled her soul to him, which resulted in her possessing the man's body. Although, no matter how much she disliked the situation she found herself in, for some reason there was a pleasant warmth in her chest.
No matter how many times this situation happened, somehow, despite the anxiety that came with being in a body that did not match her own gender, she always felt a surprising calm. Teveli never told her what to do, never opposed her, she let the danovus lady do what she wanted. Tele Teveli was the first man in Alkekengi's life who did not see her as a weak woman.
Of course, the danovus woman did not know that no matter what kind of todays hegin she would meet, they would not have considered her any less just because she was a woman. For the people of the Karrabata Mountains, there was no difference between male and female hegins; if someone was able to use soul magic, that was enough to be respected. That was why Tele Teveli regarded the danovus woman as an equal, since in his eyes the fact that she was a member of a race that could use human senses to an almost incomprehensible level was enough for the male to consider Alkekengi a hegin.
However, this did not change the fact that sharing the same body was an unpleasant experience for both halves of the pair. And then the fact that it had to happen in front of hundreds of people made it even worse. However, in the end, the danovus only did what the hegin called her for and defeated the half-demon, then retreated. She had just decided that if she was in such a situation, she would start paying attention to the man she was tied to again, when she felt something she hadn't felt in years.
The ghost bond sigil on her arm literally began to glow, and from one moment to the next dhe found herself across the city floating on the sea from one side to the other, facing Tele Teveli, without any idea how it had happened. After all, Alkekengi had come out of the situation quite well, since for the first time in decades she had come close to one of her own kind, and since the boy was a baby compared to her, she had decided to take the child under her wing. Especially considering that she had a little remorse, since someone had used the nails made by the danovus woman on the child.
However, she had not expected that the team gathered around her hegin would be able to come up with a solution to the problem that her ghost binding represented. And she could hardly believe that the ghost, who in the eyes of the danovus lady looked more like a runaway táltos from a village in Rázsia than a hegin, was be able to destroy the bond between her and the elder Teveli with a single move.
The situation shocked the danovus woman so much that as she had done in her youth, she decided that the wisest solution would be to ignore the feelings swirling within her. That was why she began to focus on teaching the little danovus boy. Although, to her greatest sorrow, the child was either very well-educated or very well-trained, since after a few sessions he was easily able to keep up with Physalis Alkekengi in a duel and even managed to make the woman sweat.
However, this meant that soon the danovus lady had to face her emotional problems. And she was not at all prepared for this. That's how she finally got to tonight, when she went to the little danovus in her helplessness and after fighting a little, she returned to her hegin's room less sullen. To be honest, she never expected that the hegin would feel the same way as she did, but when the man easily described her feelings, the woman almost burst into tears.
"Teveli?" The danovus lady swallowed hard and her heart, which had been beating slowly in all her life, now worked harder than ever.
"Physalis?" The hegin asked back, a kind smile on his lips as he caressed the woman's face with his thumb. The danovus's trembling hands tightened a little on the man's shoulders at his action.
"This... Why did you do this?" The woman blinked in confusion.
"Hasn't it occurred to you why I haven't found anyone for myself?" Tele Tete chuckled and pulled the woman closer to him by the waist.
"You didn't have to look for the girls they did it for you, the fact that you didn't look at them is another matter." The danovus rolled his eyes.
"Why would I have looked when you were there?" The hegin smiled and touched his nose to Alkekengi's. "I guess you came to the point of acceptance later than I did. I accepted that you would stay with me forever after two years. I don't need another woman when I have a real wild maiden." The man sighed heavily, with love sparkling in his eyes.
"Why didn't you say anything?" The woman's snow-white face blushed. However, the her question made the hegin's grip grew stronger on her body.
"You hated me. We kept teasing each other. I didn't think you would take it well, and it was enough for me to know that you were there with me." Here Tele Tete grimaced. "And anyways, you will stay this beautiful and young forever. You are a danovus, you will outlive me. I didn't want you to have to watch me die if we happened to get together." He touched their foreheads together.
"Then why did you kiss me now?" The woman's next question came.
"I couldn't help it, you are finally here in my arms and you looked up at me as if I meant as much to you as you do to me. I was like, damn it, you will kill me at best. I know that you are my destiny anyway." The hegin chuckled, causing Physalis Alkekengi's heart to skip a beat.
"Do you think that a little nothing like death will take you from me, hegin?" Her gaze hardened and she took the man's face in both hands, which was enough for Tele Tete to wrap both hands around her waist.
"You can't do anything about nature." The man said sadly.
"I love you!" The sentence came from the danovus woman.
"I love you!" The answer came from the hegin, who immediately tried to kiss the danovus again.
"Don't be scared, it will taste strange." Alkekengi announced as she bit her own lip to draw blood and, ignoring the man's objections, kissed him and wrapped her arms around his neck. Tele Tete was surprised at first, but when he tasted the woman's blood during the kiss, he involuntarily groaned and ran one hand through the danovus's hair.
"What was that good for?" He asked barely audibly after the kiss.
"I told you I wouldn't let death take you from me." Alkekengi grinned and leaned over to the man's throat. "When you're ready, I'll take your life, but you won't die, you'll be like me." The woman explained.
"Ah. That's what your blood was for." The man rolled his eyes.
"Idiot hegin." The woman bit the man's neck carefully.
"Danovus bitch." The hegin immediately cut her off.
"Does your offer still stand?" The danovus asked in a trembling voice.
"As long as you say before you do it, you can eat as much as you want." He stroked the woman's hair.
"My hegin." The danovus squeezed Tele Tete's shoulders and the back of his neck before sinking her teeth into the man's neck where their former alliance mark had been.
"My danovus." The man whispered and thanks to the blood she had taken, Alkekengi knew exactly how much sincere love was hidden behind the hegin's words.
