Chapter 37 - Paladin’s First day

Astolfo walked the halls of UA High School, looking for Class 1A. This was exciting—a whole new world of heroes and mysteries. You're probably wondering how Astolfo got here and why he was going to high school. Well, that's an excellent question, and I will answer it now.

You see, back when Noisage and Zelretch made a deal, the specific person Zelretch wanted to get rid of was Astolfo. Astolfo had won a Holy Grail War and was basically terrorizing the Mage Association. Zelretch was hounded by so many factions to get rid of Astolfo that he actually got annoyed and decided to send him to another reality.

And after the deal, Astolfo was handed over to Noisage. Wanting to spice up the story of this world, Noisage decided to seal Astolfo's Saint Graph, then put him in the body of a 15-year-old version of himself and granted him a combat quirk. Astolfo was then introduced to Principal Nezu and eventually brought to an apartment, given an allowance that would allow him to survive until he graduated from UA. Oh yeah, he also took the entrance exam. He didn't do super well on the written exam, but he did pass. Relying on his basic knowledge of his new quirk and all his combat experience, he was able to pass the physical exam. This allowed him to become a part of Class 1A.

Anyway, after all that recap, we see Astolfo approach the entrance of Class 1A. Just as he was about to open the door, he saw a strangely familiar figure. They had the exact same blonde hair and green eyes as that feisty Saber from the Red Team.

"Mordred?" he said in a bewildered tone.

The blonde turned around with a questioning look in her eyes. "Yeah, I'm Mordred. Who's asking?"

Astolfo was overjoyed! A familiar face in this world of quirks. This clearly wasn't the same Mordred, but maybe they were just like him. "Oh, I'm so silly! I'm Astolfo-chan! You must also be a part of the hero program! And since you're here, probably Class 1A! Come on, let's go inside!"

Before Mordred could put up any resistance, she was dragged into Class 1A.

Inside, 18 students were mingling with each other, getting to know the people they'd be spending the next four years with. But before Astolfo and Mordred could really analyze any of the features of the people in the classroom, they heard two very loud students standing at the front of the class. One was standing, and the other was sitting very improperly.

"Please remove your feet from the desk! You are disgracing the staff and students that work in attendance at this very prestigious academy!" yelled a blue-haired boy as he attempted to lecture a very familiar-looking blonde Pomeranian.

"I don't give a shit about whatever the fuck you're talking about! What kind of prep school did you go to? Did they shove table legs up your ass?!" Bakugo yelled back, daring this pristine, prissy-looking punk to disrespect his authority, even if that authority only existed in his imagination.

"Oh, how rude of me! I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Ida Tenya from Soumei Private Academy! It is simultaneously my pleasure and displeasure to meet you!" The boy, now identified as Ida, stated before noticing the two new people in the room, one of whom was very familiar to him.

"Hiya, Blue Bob!" shouted Astolfo as he approached Ida. Ida froze as if he were staring at the most incomprehensible being he had ever witnessed.

"Oh, uh, hello, Astolfo. It is very pleasant to witness your heroic figure again?" he said, unsure whether to be happy to see them.

"Could you please not call me that? It is not a flattering nickname," Ida said in a resigned tone.

Astolfo shook his head. "No can do, my friend. I think the nickname perfectly describes you: Blue Bob the Blur."

Before Ida could respond to that clearly absurd statement, a new voice entered the conversation.

"Pink Knight! I knew you would definitely get into the hero course!"

Mordred turned around; she still hadn't been able to get a word in, and things were moving way too fast. Anyway, she turned and saw a brown-haired girl with very rosy cheeks and a bright, cheerful smile on her face.

"Hiya, Sweet Cheeks!" Astolfo said in his cheerful and oblivious tone.

The brown-haired girl's cheeks turned red. "What did you call me?"

Mordred stared at the person she currently thought was also a girl and slowly stepped away from her.

Ignoring—or probably not even noticing—all the looks on people's faces, Astolfo explained his reasoning for the nickname. "You're a very sweet girl, and you have very prominent rosy cheeks. So the natural nickname to give you is Sweet Cheeks!"

"I'm pretty sure I told you my name during the exam. Did you forget? It's Ochaco Uraraka," Ochaco said in an embarrassed and flustered tone.

Mordred decided to back toward the door so she could sneakily leave. She did not want to get involved with the first-year students. She was their senpai, even if they were all technically the same age. Slowly, she crept toward the door, sliding it open a smidgen before looking down and seeing a very familiar-looking caterpillar. It was yellow, and despite looking like it was sleeping, it seemed to have not slept in years.

"Oh, hi, Aizawa-sensei." After Mordred said this, the whole class seemed to freeze. The only word they heard was "sensei," but that was enough for them to realize that their teacher might be here.

Aizawa slowly got up out of his sleeping bag and walked to the front of the class as all the students rushed to take their seats. Mordred decided it was prime time to leave while everyone was focused on Aizawa.

"Mordred, get back here," Aizawa said in a flat tone. "You're here, so you might as well stick around. I'm sure Nezu will enjoy watching you interact with first-years."

Mordred sighed in exasperation. She slowly shut the classroom door and leaned against the desk next to Aizawa. The class was extremely interested in who this person was. They were clearly a student, but they must be from a higher grade because they were clearly not a first year. Their class had all 20 students in it.

"Today we will be doing a quirk apprehension test," Aizawa said in his monotonous tone.

A hand rose, clearly wanting to ask a question, and Aizawa gestured for them to ask. "Are we going to orientation, or is that after the test?"

Aizawa snorted before pulling gym uniforms out of his sleeping bag. "Here at UA, teachers are allowed a certain amount of freedom in how they teach their students. And personally, I think orientation is a waste of time. So put these on in the changing room and meet me in Sports Field B. If you're late, there will be consequences."

The class of students quickly got up and began to grab their sporting attire as Aizawa and Mordred walked toward the sports field.
