After Kadoya finished his sparring match with Sakumo, he turned to see his brother watching, but what shocked him was that Minato's eyes had turned into the two-tomoe Sharingan.
"Kadoya, I want to learn that aggressive kenjutsu style you just used." Minato didn't hold back, asking directly.
He then blinked, and his eyes turned back to their usual blue color.
"Minato... have you noticed something off with your eyes lately?" Kadoya asks, wanting to see Minato's view now that he has unlocked the Sharingan.
"Huh? Well, lately my vision did seem to increase, and my reaction speed also improved a lot, too."
"Is there anything else?" Kadoya asks, tilting his head.
"Besides that, not really." Minato just shrugged, still not understanding what he was saying.
Kadoya: "..."
So you actually unlocked the Sharingan and have been using it without anyone noticing? Including yourself?
Kadoya was a bit taken aback. Minato is probably the only person who unlocked the Sharingan, used them, was completely unaware of it, and somehow no one noticed except him.
What kind of BS luck is this?
"How is your eyesight now?" He continues, wanting to look further into how Minato unlocked the Sharingan.
"It's still good." Minato answered simply, still not sure what his brother was talking about.
"Like, when did your eyesight suddenly increase? When did you notice it?"
Hearing this, Minato paused and began to think about it before speaking. "After drinking the soup Mom made."
Kadoya: "..."
Damn... if any Uchiha hear about Minato's method of awakening his Sharingan, they might cry tear of blood and directly awaken the Mangekyou, saying this world is so unfair!
I have to watch my loved ones leave me, risked my life on dangerous missions to awaken my Sharingan!
You awaken yours by eating your mother's cooking!?
Kadoya still finds it hard to believe that Minato awakened the two-tomoe Sharingan by eating Tiamama's cooking.
"Umu. I see." Kadoya nodded before looking into Minato's eyes with a serious expression. "Minato, look into my eyes and follow my lead."
They locked eyes with each other, their pupil began to spin, turning red, and the tomoe of the Sharingan appeared in their eyes.
Kadoya opens his palm, forming a mirror, and tosses it toward his brother.
"Huh? You are using the Sharingan on me?" Minato asks, looking at his own reflection, seeing that his eyes have turned into the Sharingan.
"Count our tomoe." Kadoya said calmly, waiting patiently to see him realize.
"One two..." He counted, before looking up, the two tomoe in his eyes spun, locking into his brother's three-tomoe Sharingan.
"Three?" He murmurs, before looking back into the mirror, seeing the two tomoe in his eyes still spinning, then looks back toward his brother, then back into the mirror.
Minato: "WHAT THE HELL!!?"
Kadoya let out a light chuckle, seeing Minato staring into the mirror like it personally insulted him.
"I'm actually an Uchiha?" He question.
With his background as a war orphan, whether his mother's or father's side actually carries Uchiha's blood is something he couldn't find out, not when they are already dead.
With the small inheritance they left him, his parents were at best only common chunin civilian shinobi.
Because of this, Minato has always been humble and kind to others, taking every opportunity he could to get stronger, to change his fate. This same mindset is what helped him achieve the position of the Fourth Hokage in the original work.
It was also because of this mindset of his that he was easily manipulated by the Third and the village higher-ups.
In the original work, Minato saved Kushina at a very young age, after several shinobi from Kumogakure came to Konoha and kidnapped her.
Kadoya call this bullshit! Now that he has become a resident of the Naruto World, he only has a few things to say about this situation.
What nonsense was that?
Kushina is the number one candidate for the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki. She has a transcendent status in Konoha. What kind of shinobi can sneak into Konoha and kidnap her?
The shinobi of Kumogakure? Not even their leader, the Raikage, could do it.
And the more interesting part was that Minato saved her, so she's grateful to him, and since then, their relationship has been close.
Something about this is so wrong that when he thinks about it, he notices that there were too many problems.
First, Konoha has barriers. How could the Kumo shinobi infiltrate?
Second, what about the ANBU around Kushina? Were they so incompetent that they let Kushina be kidnapped without noticing?
And those aren't even the most ridiculous things.
After Kumogakure abducted Kushina, Minato actually caught up with them and killed them all without being harmed.
At that time, Minato had not yet graduated, being at best a chunin, or even a genin. Any shinobi who could be killed by him, at most, were a chunin. How big a gap there is between a jonin and a chunin, Kadoya is already well aware of this.
Although in the end of the day, jonin, chunin, or even genin were all human, and a fast, fatal strike would be enough to kill any of them. Those Kumo shinobi had the strength to kidnap Kushina without anyone, not even the Third Hokage, noticing, and were killed by Minato all on the same day.
To sum it up, a group of chunin or genin infiltrated Konoha and kidnapped the future Jinchuriki. While both Hiruzen and Danzo were completely unaware of this.
What were they even doing at that time to not notice?
Danzo? He probably scheming something against the Uchiha.
Hiruzen? He must be using the Crystal Ball Jutsu to monitor the Female Bathhouse in Konoha, in case of spies.
As expected of the Shadow of the Shinobi World and the "Strongest Hokage"!
Or this could totally be a setup by them to have Kushina fall for Minato, and for Hiruzen to groom Minato into the next Hokage, leading to him being able to control both the Fourth Hokage and the Jinchuriki.
But still, no matter how he thinks about this, Hiruzen's image in Kadoya has dropped to rock bottom right beside his boyfriend, Danzo. And it seems to be trying to dig even further down.
"Hmmm, now that I think about this..." Kadoya murmurs, turning toward Minato. "How is Kushina doing? Did something happen during the time I was gone?"
"Kushina? We're dating now. A few weeks before our graduation, she was kidnapped by Kumo shinobi. But don't worry, I killed them and saved her." Minato said, still looking into his reflection and trying to process the fact that he actually awakened the Sharingan.
Kadoya: "..."
As expected of the "Strongest Hokage" and the Strongest Hypocrite!
This is what he was thinking, but in the end, this is what he said. "I see."
Kadoya pulled out a pair of blue contact lenses and handed them to Minato. "Minato, wear these and hide your Sharingan until I say you can show them."
Minato: "?"
Minato was confused, but just nodded, still not understanding why Kadoya wanted him to hide his Sharingan, but knowing him, he didn't ask many questions and just took the contact lenses.
Kadoya couldn't directly tell him that he didn't trust Hiruzen and Danzo. Shinobi are taught at a young age to sacrifice everything for their village; every village is like this, and Konoha was no different.
He couldn't explain to Minato, not because he was afraid that Minato would turn on him, he didn't tell Minato because his brother actually sucked when it come to politic.
In the original work, during the Night of the Nine-Tails, Minato was left to face Obito, then Kurama, all by himself, while the other shinobi were mostly useless and couldn't deal with it. Where was Uchiha during that time, you may ask?
Danzo orders them to stay in the Uchiha territory because the Nine-Tails' eyes have the Sharingan pattern. Only after the fight ended did Danzo turn and blame the Uchiha, forcing them to move toward a remote edge in the village.
Although Minato has only taken office for a year, he has only been able to learn a bit about the muddy water of politics without ever getting many chances to dive into it.
But honestly, a year of working with those old people, and he still let them hold on to not just their political power but also personal power, was a pretty dumb choice.
Sure, you could say it's for respect, but what do people that old holding more power than the one who is supposed to control the village gonna do? Create their own village beside Konoha?
Why couldn't Minato act like Hiruzen when he first took office, encouraging the Sarutobi clan to marry into civilian families, then send the Sarutobi clan into the battle and let them handle all the dirty work, just like how Hiruzen did to the Senju.
By then, Hiruzen could complain, Minato could just say he is following the Third's footsteps, treating the Sarutobi like how he treated the Senju. And if that wasn't enough, he just needed to shout "I'm the Hokage" and slam his palm onto the table.
Minato might be strong, but his political skills still need improvement before he can try to reach for the Hokage's seat.
Kadoya watches as Minato places the blue contact lens on before giving him a thumbs up.
"Can you teach me that kenjutsu style of yours now?" Still, Minato couldn't help but ask.
"Once we return to village." Kadoya said simply, "We don't have time for you to test out a new fight style."
...
The next morning, Kadoya stepped out of his tent, visibly annoyed. His brow was furrowed, and he let out a sigh as he adjusted his gear.
Last night, Shirohebi had delivered a message from Orochimaru, asking him and only him to join the lower ninja patrol team.
Tsunade was busy "instilling moral values" into Saiguu, by which she meant beating her senseless, and Orochimaru was setting up explosive tags for Nawaki to accidentally trip. That left Kadoya as the only available candidate who had guided this team straight into enemy territory.
When he arrived at the assembly point, the area was already bustling with lower ninja teams, each one preparing for the mission ahead.
"You must be Kadoya?" A soft, calm voice interrupted his thoughts.
He turned and saw a Jonin who looked to be in his early twenties, with short blue hair and a gentle expression.
"Yesterday afternoon, I received word from above that you'd be joining us today," the Jonin continued.
"Yeah, that's me," Kadoya replied bluntly.
"You must be Jonin Muda Kato?" Kadoya said, his tone confident and direct.
Dan: "…"
"It's actually Dan Kato," Dan corrected with a strained smile, though the corner of his lips twitched in irritation.
In Japanese, the word 'muda' meant "waste" or "useless." So when Kadoya "accidentally" misspoke and called him 'Muda Kato,' is like calling him "Waste Kato".
"I see… your bad, then," Kadoya said flatly, shrugging as if it wasn't a big deal.
Dan: "…"
"Don't you mean 'my bad?'" Dan corrected, his lips still twitching.
"Right, you're correct," Kadoya replied, nodding as if he were simply acknowledging a fact, his tone almost too casual, like he hadn't even heard the question mark at the end.
Dan's patience was already being tested. He almost wanted to send Kadoya straight back to camp for insubordination.
But he forced himself to remain calm. He was a Jonin, after all, and he did have an interest in Tsunade. If he snapped at Tsunade's so-called 'beloved disciple' over a mispronounced name, she would definitely remember, and hold it against him forever.
There is no need to waste his chances because of something so small and insignificant.
"So we both agree it is your fault. That's good to know at least." Kadoya murmurs.
Everyone: "…"
Calm down. Calm down. You're a Jonin. An adult. Don't let a child's words get under your skin.
Dan took a deep breath to steady himself, forcing a smile back onto his face. "Well… I'm the Jonin team leader in charge of reconnaissance today," he said, his voice measured, now lacking the warmth he tried to project earlier on when his gaze landed on Kadoya. "Welcome to the team."
