JADE POV
I woke up the next day feeling a throbbing pain in my head,that drug really was strong. Normally I have a high resistance to drugs but that drug was the real deal, I can tell it's the illegal type for it to have a long lasting effect. I turned to where Alexis was and he wasn't there. I turned to my otherside to get up, then I saw Alexis on Nigel's lap!. Can't I just live in peace for one second?, I cried in my heart.
" How are you feeling ?". Nigel asked in a calm voice.
" Am fine thanks"; I answered a bit dazed but still trying to remain calm.
" Your temperature was super high, so I brought brother to check on you". Alexis said swaying and playing with his fingers.
I felt a warm feeling in my heart, Alexis really is a cutie. I wanted to hug him so bad, but of course the Mafia boss is here so I can't. I sighed painfully.
Remembering all the events, that happened yesterday make me feel a bit uncomfortable, no I don't think that's the word more like weird around Nigel.
" How are you doing now?"; I asked Nigel concerned a little.
" Am better than before "; Nigel said in a calm tone.
That's honestly really good to hear, the sooner I can treat him the better, and his complexion has really improved too, but there's just one thing I can't get out of my mind and that's Alexis, I promised I would never leave but that's just the case, so all I can do is to cure him, so he'll get over me when am gone.
Hilbert's voice suddenly interrupted my thoughts;" Young master the Nelion family have been requesting to meet you, there at the entrance of the estate".
" Let them in, let's see what they can offer for their lives"; Nigel said in a cold tone.
I stared at Nigel for a while, although he seems cold he actually isn't a bad person, but I can't say nice though. Nigel made his way to the door and turned back to me; " I'll make them pay", his eyes cold and void of emotion. I didn't know whether to feel scared or good. Am not really used to people protecting me, I usually always fight alone. So now I don't know how to feel.
Alexis climbed on the bed as if scaling a ladder then on my lap and gave a little fist pump; " Don't worry, brother will make the bad guys pay". I just smiled and patted the little guy's head.
Nigel exited the room and closed the door behind him, the paused; that pendant he saw around her neck last night was the exact same pendant the person who had saved him three years ago had worn. That night, he drove on the road his mind clouded with his father's death and how he'd have to be the support for his mother and brother now, then everything went blank, a truck had crashed into his vehicle, he then woke up again to see someone had carried him to the side of the road and also stopping his bleeding, the last thing he saw was the silver pendant around the person's neck. He opened his eyes on the hospital bed with Hilbert sitting beside him.
"You're awake!, how are feeling?"; Hilbert asked with a worried and concerned look on his face.
"Am hurting all over"; I laughed joked to lift his mood a little but I coughed hard.
" This is no time for jokes, just rest"; Hilbert said seriously. I could tell by his disheveled appearance he had been here for long.
"How long have I been unconscious?", I asked.
" Four days , you've been unconscious since then". Hilbert replied.
I looked at Hilbert, what would I do without him;" How's Mom and Alexis"; I asked worried.
" There are fine, still back at the Villa, your mom wanted to see you so bad, but she couldn't leave Alexis"; Hilbert replied.
" You're lucky to be here you know "; Hilbert said.
I have Hilbert a knowing look of course I knew," How did I get to the hospital?", I asked Hilbert questionably. " The Doctors said a girl had carried you to the hospital on her back, and thanks to her who stop the bleeding you survived". Hilbert said with a grateful look on his face. I sighed outwardly, I can never know the person who saved my life now.
I turned to Hilbert; " You should go rest too, you look awful "; I joked.
" I can't believe someone that's just been in an accident is joking around"; Hilbert said annoyed.
" Go rest okay, am fine", Hilbert looked at me then walked up to a couch next to the hospital bed, sat and closed his eyes.
" The only thing I remember is her pendant"; I scoffed. As if that's useful.
Back to the present.
Hilbert walking behind Nigel said;
" We've gathered all the information on Jade as you asked".
Nigel stopped in his tracks and clenched his fists, although he wanted answers, if she was the one three years ago or who she really was, now wasn't the time. Now he needed a to teach those bastards a lesson they'd never forget, a wicked grin appeared on his face;" Later, now it's time to punish some bastards". Nigel said as he walked out with Hilbert walking behind him.
