Chapter 64 - Chapter 64

As Project Bunny 19C placed Mei and I down, I groaned as I pushed my body up.

"Phew. Thanks for the save, Bronya. Wouldn't want to taste concrete after a fight like that."

"YOU FORGOT ABOUT BOTH OF US!!!"

Kiana suddenly came in shouting as she grabbed onto me.

"WHAT THE HECK WAS ALL OF THAT?! You went ninety strings or something then whoosh pow." She made exaggerated movements with her hands. "Then you went, Hollow Purple and everything went boom!!!!"

Her excitement quickly shifted though as she suddenly looked at my shirt.

"Ah! Are you hurt??!! I see blood on your shirt!"

"I'm fine now… but I won't be if you keep grabbing onto me so hard…"

"Ah! Sorry!" Kiana immediately let go.

"Subject Gojo. About the Herrscher of Thunder…" Bronya glanced at Mei who was sitting by herself, looking away at a distance.

I could not help but feel something that made me correct her.

"Mei."

Bronya tilted her head to the side.

"Pardon?"

"Call her Mei." I said, looking over to her. "Her name isn't Herrscher of Thunder or anything."

Kiana and Bronya seemed a bit stunned at my words as they looked at each other. However, they didn't argue at all, quickly nodding in understanding of my words.

Good.

It wouldn't be good if they were to get on Mei's nerves again.

"Yo, Mei!" I called out. "Why don't you come over here?"

That seemed to break her out of her contemplative mood. She slowly forced her way up to her feet, making both Kiana and Bronya flinch. She didn't seem to care about that as her eyes were totally on me.

"There is no need for that…" She said softly. "I'll be going back to sleep soon anyways…"

A look of concern appeared on my face.

"Are there any side effects from Unlimited Void? You need to tell me if you feel like your IQ has dropped by 50 points or something."

"How would I even quantify that?"

"I dunno."

She sighed. "I'm just going to go to sleep…"

"I feel a bit… tired…"

"As for you two…"

Her eyes shifted between Kiana and Bronya.

Seeing their reactions however, Mei's eyes sharpened.

"I hope the two of you will treat her well. If not…"

Kiana snorted as she crossed her arms. "Of course we will, Mei! We don't leave friends behind!"

"Idiotka is correct." Bronya added on. "We will not let sister Mei handle things alone," She paused before continuing, "Subject Mei."

Mei's eyes widened a bit, before she forced out a sneer. "Hmph. You better. I don't want a body that's an emotional wreck."

I swore I saw her lips curling up slightly though.

But you know what didn't make her happy?

When the three of us huddled together.

"Tsun tsun?" I asked seriously.

"Definitely!"/"Probability equals 100%"

With a deadpan on her face, all she did was say one thing in response.

"I'll seriously end this world one day…"

And before I got a chance to tease her any further, I felt a pulse happen in her body.

At that moment, her eyes returned to indigo and she collapsed once more.

The three of us hurriedly supported her before she fell. Checking on her quickly, we sighed a breath of relief to see her just asleep for now.

"That… was pretty wild."

"You think?"

I laughed slightly as I looked at my hands.

"I won't lie though. I had a lot of fun in that fight."

"You won right?" Kiana asked excitedly, a bit hyperactive like a puppy right now.

"The Bronya believes that the other Mei would be making due of the promise to step on Gojo if he had not."

"Haha! It seems like we win… again!" Kiana boasted.

"I win." I corrected. "You watched."

"Hey! I stopped her from nuking the school!"

"That might not be a win now that I think about it." I joked. I stretched some of my muscles a bit. "C'mon. I wanna get home now. I wanna take a nice cold shower."

"Cold… shower?"

Kiana seemed to have a look of disgust on her face. Her brain seemed to be working a lot more than usual today as she shouted out again.

"Ah wait! What about all the civilians here?!"

"Gojo has asked Bronya to evacuate the premises beforehand." Bronya spoke for me.

Kiana scratched the back of her head. "How'd you do that?"

"The Bronya hacked the emergency announcement system."

The white haired goofball was stunned at that while I gave a thumbs up in response.

"Good job, secretary!"

Bronya frowned, clearly wanting to make a retort. However, she looked at me up to down and then reluctantly looked away.

"The Bronya will not engage with brain damaged individuals."

"Hey!"/"Hey!"

Huh? Why did Kiana shout with me?

At a long table in a dark room, many individuals, predominantly women sat in front of keyboards and mice.

They wore visors over their eyes as they looked in front of them, to see a hologram.

That hologram showed a blurry image of a man whose features were unclear engaging in combat with a girl whose features were very very clear to anyone who knew her.

Raiden Mei.

"Is… that the Third Herrscher?"

"Impossible! There wasn't an Eruption!"

"Perhaps it's an edge case? This manner of power clearly depicts a Herrscher."

Chaos abounded in the room as theories sprung and arguments were formed.

These all came to a swift end when a young voice suddenly pierced through.

"What's going on?"

At once, the room regained its composure.

Silence returned as their gazes all returned to the person standing in the front and center of the long table.

It was…

A little girl?

She had white hair which was tied in a low side ponytail and bright blue eyes. Her outfit was slightly bizarre and out of place as she wore clothing that a nun would normally wear.

Behind her, a huge ornamental cross floated there, as if a pet waiting for its master's commands.

" Lady Theresa." One of the women spoke out. "We have detected a surge of Honkai energy at Nagazora, Japan. After checking the footage, we believe that there is a high chance of a Herrscher being born there."

"I heard there was no Eruption?" The girl, now named Theresa, asked calmly.

"That is correct."

She placed a hand on her chin as she went into thought.

Her decision came quickly.

"In that case…" She began.

Her eyes became as hard as steel as her voice rang out.

"We will have to do something about it, don't we?"
