Chapter 65 - Chapter 65: Playing Ark in the Pre-Honkai Civilization? Don’t Round My Weight, Mobius

After her identity was arranged, Skadi happily walked out of the Spiral Workshop, holding a doll materialized from Prometheus.

"Dr. Vill-V, is this really okay? She seems to have a very childlike personality."

Prometheus glanced at Vill-V beside her and asked with some confusion.

When he first created this AI, he had asked Vill-V more than once why she had given it so much humanity, or rather, such a rich emotional module.

"It's fine. After all, I have to think about your future."

Vill-V was well aware of the darkness of human nature. During the Honkai era, any high-level combat power that could resist the Honkai would be supported.

But if the Honkai were to be defeated, these forces, far beyond what ordinary humans could resist, would be opposed by all of humanity.

If they remained as cold machines, even if the Herrscher cores were buried afterward, humans would still destroy them.

But if they were imbued with humanity and fully integrated into society, then they would be accepted by humans.

"I don't understand, but since it's Dr. Vill-V's choice, I'll respect it."

Prometheus still didn't understand why Vill-V had done this, but she didn't press further.

He believed that Vill-V must have her reasons.

"You're so thoughtful, unlike that Skadi, who really acts like a child."

Vill-V patted Prometheus's head and then turned back to focus on matching the latest Honkai beast DNA.

Currently, she was only slightly stronger than an ordinary person. If she wanted to become more powerful or have more energy to devote to research, becoming a MANTIS was a must.

"I hope there's a Honkai beast in this new batch that's compatible with me."

After silently praying, Vill-V took Prometheus into the Honkai beast gene bank to begin the matching process.

...

"I'm full. This must be what Dr. Vill-V calls the feeling of satiety."

Skadi patted her stomach and left the cafeteria under the astonished gazes of the chefs.

"My goodness, is that little girl a MANTIS too?"

"I think so. How else could a normal little girl eat enough food for ten people?"

"That makes sense, but is she really a MANTIS at such a young age?"

"Who knows? Maybe she volunteered."

Unaware of the chefs' discussion, Skadi walked out the door on her own.

Just then, she bumped into Chang Yuan and the others who had just returned.

However, Chang Yuan was momentarily stunned when he saw who it was.

"Didi?"

"Huh? Do you know me? Oh, right, you're the vice-captain of the first squad. Your name is Chang Yuan."

Hearing someone call her, Skadi immediately turned around.

Seeing Chang Yuan, all his information and data flashed through her mind.

"Wait, your name is really Didi?"

"My name is Skadi. According to human preferences, my nickname can also be Didi."

"..."

What the hell? Where am I? Am I not in the pre-Honkai civilization? How did Skadi from Arknights end up here? Is this some kind of crossover?

Hearing Skadi's introduction and seeing the whale doll in her arms, Chang Yuan fell silent.

Compared to him, Elysia was very curious about the slightly dazed-looking girl in front of her.

She immediately reached out and poked Skadi's cheek.

"Huh? Is there something you need?"

Skadi looked at Elysia with confusion.

"Nothing, nothing. It's just that your expression makes me want to poke your cheek."

"...Dr. Vill-V said the same thing about me, but I don't feel like there's anything wrong with my expression."

Skadi tilted her head, looking at Elysia with confusion.

Why did everyone seem to have wild imaginations when they saw her expression? Even Dr. Vill-V couldn't resist.

"Wait, you're not a new android, are you?"

"Yes, that's correct. In terms of creation order, Prometheus is my older sister. I am the second android, named Skadi by Dr. Vill-V."

Skadi straightened her head and nodded.

"...."

Great job, Dr. V! You've let me play Arknights in the pre-Honkai civilization, huh?

Although the girl in front of him was still quite different from Skadi—for example, she didn't have that iconic hat, and she wasn't wearing the kind of luxurious clothes Skadi usually wore—the white hair and red eyes were almost a perfect match. The most striking similarity was the dazed look in her eyes, which was almost indistinguishable from the real thing. It made him feel like she was about to start singing "Song of Sorrow" any second.

"So, which Herrscher authority do you have? Wind or Ice?"

"Ice. The Wind Herrscher core was transferred to Mu Continent by Dr. Vill-V, as per your previous suggestion, to create the Divine Key of Absolute Defense."

"Whew, it seems Dr. V listened after all."

Hearing that Dr. V hadn't used the 4th Herrscher core as Skadi's energy source, Chang Yuan breathed a sigh of relief.

"Um, you've asked your questions. Can I go now?"

"Go ahead, have fun."

Chang Yuan casually patted Skadi's head and waved her off.

Seeing Skadi nod dazedly, she then wandered off like a lost girl.

"This AI that Vill-V created is quite interesting. It's just like a real person."

"Perhaps that's what Vill-V wanted. Anyway, let's not talk about this anymore. We need to have Mobius give you a check-up. I'm not entirely at ease."

The reason they had returned was that Chang Yuan had suggested Elysia get another check-up from Mobius.

If there were any hidden issues, and they suddenly flared up during a future battle, it would be a disaster.

"Really, I've already said I'm fine. Why don't you believe me?"

Elysia pouted, clearly unhappy with Chang Yuan's lack of trust, and waved her fists at him.

"I do believe you, but you're not a professional doctor. How would you know if you have any internal injuries?"

"Ugh, fine. I really hate check-ups."

...

"There's nothing wrong. Your height hasn't changed, and your weight is still 55 kg. No hidden injuries. You can leave now."

As the most authoritative biology doctor, Mobius could confirm that Elysia had no internal injuries.

So she put down the examination report and began shooing them away.

"Nonsense, I haven't gained weight. I've always been 54.8 kg. Don't round it up, Mobius!"

Hearing that Mobius had rounded her weight, Elysia immediately protested with a look of dissatisfaction.
