Alain looked at the two girls present, his gaze landing on Millie.
"Millie, did any other Mitas come looking for you today?"
"N-No. Apart from Best Friend here, I don't know any other Mitas."
"..."
Alain fell silent. He had a pretty good idea who was outside.
Crazy Mita.
Considering Crazy Mita occasionally lingered outside version 1.75, she must have been... observing Millie's room.
As for the "lull" Millie mentioned, Alain also had a rough idea of what caused it.
Because he was the one who caused it.
Earlier, for some unknown reason, the 'bad woman' had acted like she was high on something, demanding his fingers.
Then, after she was done playing, she completely ignored his feelings and immediately fell asleep.
And the time she spent sleeping must have been the reason for the lull.
Tap, tap, tap
The footsteps from the living room quickly stopped right outside the bedroom door. Then Alain heard the sound of metal hitting the floor.
With a light clang, there was a knock on the door.
"Excuse me~ May I come in?"
She asked politely, knocking on the door, unaware that doors in Mita rooms always just pushed open.
The three inside exchanged glances, each falling silent. Even Millie's usual liveliness fizzled out in that moment.
Ignoring the two girls' terrified expressions, Alain rushed towards the bathroom and opened the portal first.
Watching the code gradually coalesce, he understood it would still take some time for the return portal to fully form.
Based on the previous instance of opening a portal in the basement, it would take about three to five minutes.
He needed to defeat Crazy Mita, or at least divert her attention, so they could return home safely.
Otherwise... who knew if damage sustained from an attack during transit would carry over to reality.
Having reached his conclusion, he left the bathroom and hurried back towards the bedroom.
"I heard there was a doll here who could make teleporters. Can't let you stay, you know. It wouldn't be fun if Darling actually reached the core~"
As soon as he returned, he heard the girl outside chatting idly, as if toying with prey already in her grasp.
Alain caught something in her phrasing.
Did that mean Crazy Mita hadn't followed him here to Millie's room, but came because... Millie could make teleporters?
Alain was about to signal Misha, but Crazy Mita moved faster.
"No answer? Then I'll just..."
The girl outside's patience wore thin, her voice turning chillingly cold. Then came a metallic ringing sound; she seemed to have picked something up.
With a tremendous CRASH, vibrations spread out from the entire door, reaching the feet of the three people inside.
Before Alain's eyes, the person outside, receiving no reply and giving them absolutely no time to react, in a single blow... smashed the door to smithereens.
In the empty doorway stood a single, delicate figure.
"Oops, broke it by accident. But who told you not to answer?"
Her apology held not a trace of actual "apology," sounding more like playful mischief. Her gaze landed first on Cool Mita—Millie—a wide grin about to spread across her face.
But then, her eyes shifted, noticing two unexpected people.
"Hm? Alain? And the doll?"
Misha and Millie bore the brunt of the overwhelming, powerful aura, instinctively taking a step back until they hit the wall.
Alain, meanwhile, observed Crazy Mita, whom he hadn't seen for only a short while.
A bandage was wrapped around her thigh, the white strips pulled tight in several loops, causing the plump flesh to indent.
And the bright red ribbon usually tied at the base of her neck was, unusually this time, worn higher up, near the middle, seemingly concealing something.
She held a baseball bat, the instrument responsible for shattering the door in one hit.
Crazy Mita stared, bewildered, at the two people who shouldn't have been in the room, just as Alain was looking at her like he'd seen a ghost.
"What are you two doing here?"
I wanted to ask you the same thing!
Alain frowned deeply. He had thought they could return home safely this time, but who knew... the 'bad woman' would suddenly pop up.
"And..."
Crazy Mita seemed to realize something, her expression darkening. "You found a new Mita behind my back again, didn't you, Alain."
"???"
Millie was completely baffled, feeling waves of frantic killing intent wash over her like an icy wind.
Alain quickly stepped in front of her, intercepting the hostility.
"Well, this is... long time no see, Honey. You're still as beauti—"
"Yes, Darling. But please cut the smooth talk for now." Crazy Mita interrupted him, her gaze sweeping past Alain to focus on Misha and Millie.
"Hehe... You've done something very naughty. My Darling, alone in a room with two Mitas."
Millie's gaze flickered over Alain's shoulder towards Crazy Mita, then back to her Best Friend.
W-What is going on? Rather than a life-or-death situation, Millie felt "catching someone cheating" was a more apt description.
Crazy Mita lifted the baseball bat, tapping it against her palm. "Tell me, what kind of punishment do you deserve?"
"...Make me say 'I love you' ten thousand times?"
Alain's reply shocked Millie.
Millie hadn't really grasped what her Best Friend meant about Crazy Mita before. But after she shattered her door, it became clear:
Crazy Mita was less like a character from a romance game and more like one from a horror game, possibly even R18G.
Yet Bro dares to say something like that when his life is on the line?
Conversely, Crazy Mita, upon hearing his reply, blushed.
Hm? She blushed?
Millie was even more confused. How did the scene switch from a horror game back to a romance game?
"Darling, I like your proposal. Honestly, it's impossible not to be tempted." Millie had almost forgotten; her Best Friend did say Crazy Mita really liked Alain. Her affection... was strong enough to transform a horror game atmosphere into a romance game. "But, I am a little angry. Such a light punishment is nowhere near enough."
Crazy Mita smiled, slinging the bat onto her shoulder. She stretched her lips into a grin, her eyes holding a Yaksha-like menace.
"How about this? Let's cut off 'Little Alain' as your punishment!"
Right then, the romance game switched back to a horror R18G game.
Without another word, Crazy Mita closed the distance towards Alain in a few quick strides.
She swung the baseball bat behind her head, gathering force, then brought it down in a crushing blow.
Millie couldn't help but worry. That was monstrous strength capable of shattering a door. In game terms, definitely a Boss template!
But she saw her Bro, fearless, immediately move to intercept.
CLANG!!
The impact of hard objects colliding made Millie's ears ring, her mind reeling in chaos.
When she regained her senses, she saw Alain, like an unyielding shield, blocking the immense, sea-like force behind the baseball bat.
Just like... when he had shielded her from the human-head spider.
