The boy awoke to the enticing aroma of bacon wafting in the air.
"Why do I smell bacon? Where is Elliot? Why am I in the middle of the forest?" he wondered.
Eventually, he rose and made his way back to the cabin, where the savory scent of bacon, eggs, and pancakes permeated the air. Eldo was at the stove when the boy arrived.
"Hey, the breakfast you're cooking smells really good!" the boy exclaimed with a grumbling stomach.
"Oh hey, um... What was your name again?" Eldo asked, genuinely puzzled by his forgetfulness.
"Oh, me? I'm Kyo! Kyo Hoshi," the boy introduced himself, pointing toward his cat already settled in the cabin.
"And that's Elliot! She's always by my side," Kyo continued.
"Cool. Hey, check this out!" Eldo burst out with excitement.
Eldo extended his hand away from the stove, focusing his concentration.
"Hm, your hand? What about it?" Kyo asked, losing interest.
"Hold on!" Eldo replied, grabbing the other arm he was concentrating on.
"Witness my resolve!" Eldo shouted, his whole body shaking.
"What are you saying? Hey, are you okay...? Was last night rough for you, too?" Kyo questioned Eldo's sanity.
"Sorry about that. I just thought it sounded cool..." Eldo replied, gradually losing focus. Then suddenly...
A flame, red as blood, bright as a star, emerged in the palm of Eldo's hand.
Kyo was in shock, utterly speechless. An artificial flame naturally occurring through the boy's body. How was this possible? It truly was a spectacle to wake up to.
"How else did you think I cooked this bacon!" Eldo chuckled to himself.
"I don't know, a stove?" Winter chimed in as he walked into the cabin, instantly lowering the room temperature.
"What is going on today!?" Kyo exclaimed, holding his head.
"Yeah, we obtained some sort of strange abilities last night. I would probably call them elements," Winter explained as he enjoyed the rest of the breakfast Eldo had prepared.
Before Kyo could continue questioning the situation, Eldo and Winter erupted into a fight over the bacon Winter had consumed.
"What? Are you gonna burn the damn cabin over this?" Winter raged.
"First off, this is MY cabin, not yours! Secondly, it was MY food, not yours, and lastly, I never trusted you for a second," Eldo ranted as his body heated up.
"Come on, kid. Let's take this outside," Winter suggested, swiftly pushing the door aside.
"Hey, you don't even look that old! Stop calling me kid!" Eldo retorted, following suit.
"Come on, do we all really have to start on bad terms?" Kyo interjected, unsure how to handle the situation. Winter and Eldo stood at the front of the cabin, tensions escalating, and it seemed a fight could break out any second.
"Say you're sorry!" Eldo demanded with a stern expression.
"And what if I don't?" Winter chuckled.
Eldo's fist ignited. Though not typically inclined toward aggression, he felt a change within himself, not fully understanding why. Regardless, he knew he had to confront the man before him.
