Chapter 108: The True Meaning of Tianxing A Veiled Warning
"Medicinal herbs? Those two just look worse than they are. I didn't go all out; otherwise, they would have been reduced to a mist of blood. Get them out of my sight before I lose patience and take you down too," Ye Wen said, his tone filled with contempt. The Haotian sect disciple shivered, bowing repeatedly before rushing to take the injured young masters away.
Ye Wen's voice followed him as he departed.
"Relay this message to the powers behind you: my Tianxing Academy is an absolutely neutral entity. I have no interest in the petty squabbles of the continent, nor any desire to compete for a place among the Upper Three Sects or Lower Four Schools. I simply want peace in my remaining years. Anyone who disrupts that peace will face complete annihilation," he declared.
With that, an overwhelming killing intent burst forth, borrowed from Tang Hao's Killing God Domain. Like a blood red nightmare from hell, it enveloped everyone present, making them tremble in terror. None dared linger a moment longer, fleeing as though their lives depended on it.
When the onlookers had all retreated, Ye Wen teleported back to Tianxing Academy, dropped his disguise, and hurried to the central medical ward in the Blue Silver Forest.
"Ah Yin, how are Old Lu and Old Poison?" he asked, worry etched across his face.
Ah Yin's hands glowed green as a potent life force flowed from her to the two elders, who had fought valiantly for the academy's honor. Su Qiaoqiao assisted her nearby, and with a weary wipe of her brow, Ah Yin replied, "Luckily, both have snake martial souls, which gives them strong resistance to physical damage. Their injuries aren't too serious and are healing well with the life energy I'm providing."
Ye Wen let out a sigh of relief. With his stockpile of medicinal herbs, he could easily treat any physical injuries. However, the mental backlash from a shattered Martial Soul True Body was much more challenging to address. Pouring large amounts of pure spirit energy into both of them, he watched as their complexions visibly brightened.
"They're out of danger. Ah Yin, I'll leave the two of them in your care, and please take some time to rest yourself. I need to go settle things with the academy," Ye Wen said.
Ah Yin nodded, acknowledging her fatigue; it was her first time fighting in human form with such large scale control techniques.
Meanwhile, news of this mysterious expert's appearance was spreading across the Douluo Continent. What started as a petty clash with the Haotian Sect had turned into the unmasking of a hidden powerhouse.
A Title Douluo at level 98 a terrifying figure indeed, only one step away from the strength of the legendary invincible triad. A single step beyond would allow him to approach the divine.
The two empires received detailed reports almost immediately, given that many of their nobles had children enrolled at Tianxing Academy. Ye Wen's voice had carried across the entire academy, so all who were within earshot knew what he had said.
The character Ye Wen portrayed with his alias was one that both emperors favored. What is the foundation of an empire? Order. But the Upper Three Sects and Lower Four Schools had long been known to run amok, even bullying imperial nobility on occasion. Now, with the appearance of this "Tianxing Douluo," the empires expected that both noble families and sects would rein in their behavior, lest they accidentally provoke him.
Both emperors briefly considered recruiting him, but dismissed the idea just as quickly. He had declared himself neutral and founded his academy with a vow of neutrality. An attempt to win him over would likely backfire. Better to wait until the other empire made a foolish move that might drive him closer to them instead.
However, Tianxing Academy was still an academy, meaning it accepted students. Both emperors planned to send their children and the children of trusted ministers to enroll, building a connection with Tianxing in the process. Moreover, Tianxing Academy's instructional methods were well regarded. Unlike the "trash" teaching style of the later Shrek Academy, Tianxing crafted personalized training plans for each student, something the empires had already heard about.
It was a win win situation, both pushing their children's growth and forming useful ties with the academy, all for a small price.
The two emperors were also quietly astounded by Ye Wen's hidden strength. Despite his powerful background, he had managed to remain under the radar for so long. The "Tianxing" in Tianxing Academy clearly did not refer to some lofty philosophical concept but to the figure known as Tianxing Douluo himself.
Meanwhile, the factions in the Lower Four Schools fell silent. Each sect issued strict orders forbidding any reckless behavior, especially near Tianxing Academy. Offending this peerless Tianxing Douluo could easily lead to complete annihilation. After all, none of the Lower Four Schools had a single Title Douluo among them.
The Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect was also shaken by the news. Their leader, Yu Yuanzhen, was only a 95th level Super Douluo. He had heard of the strength of the Haotian Twin Stars; together, the brothers could rival him by using the Haotian Nine Absolutes proof of the powerful legacy left behind by Tang Chen, the Unstoppable Force of the Earth. If they had been defeated in a single strike, their opponent was undoubtedly a stronger Title Douluo. Though there was uncertainty as to whether he truly was level 98, Yu Yuanzhen had no desire to test the claim.
He arranged for a few clan members with mutated martial souls, as well as a direct descendant with the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon martial soul, to reach out and establish friendly relations with Tianxing. As a Title Douluo himself, Yu Yuanzhen saw no need to debase himself, though he did respect the other's strength.
Over at the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, the elder sect master also considered making contact. With their protector Douluo nearing the end of his life, could they still call themselves part of the Upper Three Sects if they lost him? However, knowing the figure in question was a senior expert, he was hesitant. Instead, he arranged for direct descendants of the clan to attend Tianxing Academy, aiming to foster goodwill between the two factions.
The atmosphere at the head of the Upper Three Sects, the Haotian Sect, was oppressive. As the son of Tang Chen, the fifty year old Haotian Douluo Tang Wei had never suffered such humiliation in his life. Not only had his sons been beaten senseless, but their opponent had then openly mocked his sect.
"Damn it! Damn it! DAMN IT! Some lowly old dog dares insult the Haotian Sect?! Elders, come with me to destroy this arrogant wretch and reclaim our honor! Let all see that even without my father Tang Chen, the Haotian Sect is still unmatched! No one insults us and lives!"
