It was so thick that Kaelith thought it would last forever until he felt something prickling at his nose. And then Kaelith sneezed hard, breaking the silence between them.
"You should take a hot bath. I'm coming," Leonhardt said quickly, already rising to his feet. He left the room for the bathroom before Kaelith could even get a word in.
Kaelith sighed as he watched him go, his eyes lingering on the doorway before he sighed again and lowered himself onto the edge of the bed. His chest felt heavy; his mind was fogged with too many thoughts colliding.
"I finally understand why he's been acting this way, why he's been gatekeeping so much," Kaelith muttered quietly to himself, staring down at his hands. "It's because it's something that really bothers him… and he doesn't know how I'll react to it."
He paused, dragging a hand through his hair.
