POV:SAINT
"Don't you think you're moving a bit slow for someone eager to be rid of me?" Evelyn remarked, raising an eyebrow with a condescending smirk. Sam yanked her hair, pulling her up while Blake started to cry, clinging to his mother's dress.
"You really believe I can't kill you?" He laughed loudly, as if the situation amused him. "Do you think you matter to me? I could easily ruin your pathetic life if it weren't for having to take care of my precious Blake, you foolish woman." He tossed her onto the floor. Her scream of pain made it clear she had landed hard on her hands. I quickly got back on my feet and rushed over to assist her.
"I never expected to see you alive," Ava's voice dripped with bitterness.
"Me neither; I thought you would have been dead by now. What are you still doing alive?" I asked as I helped Evelyn stand up.
"You talk tough for a weak Omega. You're lucky Jackson has saved you every time before. This time might be different," Sam sneered. Every time I'd seen him in the pack, he wore a neutral expression. But after witnessing his true nature, I realized he was capable of far more than I had previously believed.
"You're one to criticize. You couldn't confront Jackson yourself, so you resorted to using a child and that foolish witch over there." I shot a glance at Ava, who frowned at my comment.
Sam hit me, causing me to fall. "Alright, let's see how much you can handle from someone as weak as me," he taunted, throwing punch after punch at my face. Pain surged through my body, and I struggled to stay conscious.
"D-Dad..." I heard Blake's trembling voice. "Please s-stop." He broke down into tears. Sam paused and rushed over to him, cupping his face in his hands. "Don't cry, Blake. I'm sorry for scaring you, okay? Everything will be alright soon. We'll be a happy family again, alright?" His voice was soft, making it hard to believe he was the same person capable of such cruelty.
"B-but you're h-hitting Mum," Blake replied through choked sobs. I could hear how terrified he was.
"No, Blake. She's not your mother. She's—" He couldn't finish his sentence because Evelyn charged at him, aiming her elbows at his mouth. Sam recoiled and covered his lips, spitting out blood.
"Don't listen to him, sweetheart. You'll be okay. Don't believe anything he says," she urged desperately.
As Sam moved closer to her, I stepped in front of him and kicked him in the groin with my legs before using my bound hands to strike his face. Ava came after me, but I dodged her and shoved her against the wall; her head hit it with a thud and she screamed out loud.
Sam yanked my hair, slamming my face against the window with force. "You." Bang. "stupid." Bang. "omega." Bang. "Are all Omegas this annoying?" Bang. I collapsed, feeling blood trickle down my head as everything started to ring and my head throbbed with pain.
"Let him go, you stupid jerk!" That was Evelyn's voice. Sam then walked towards them. I couldn't see what was happening because I lay on the ground, staring at the ceiling, trying to regain my senses. "P-please, keep him out of your plans. Leave my son alone!" That was Evelyn's desperate plea. I turned my head toward them and saw Evelyn kneeling, her forehead on the floor at Sam's feet as she begged him.
Sam loosened his grip on Blake's hands and grabbed Evelyn's hair, lifting her head so she had to look at him. "You're mistaken, Evelyn. Between us two, I'm the real parent." He tightened his hold on her hair again. "Did you ever wonder why I insisted on adopting Blake in particular? It's because he's my son."
"W-what?" Evelyn stammered, her mouth hanging open and her lips quivering.
He leaned close to her ear and whispered, "My blood runs through him, Evelyn. I'm Blake's biological father." Then he let go of her hair. Disbelief washed over Evelyn's face as she froze, her eyes wide in shock as she stared up at him.
Sam burst into laughter that filled the room. "You naive fool! You think I was upset because you didn't give me a child? No! I was unhappy having you as my mate. You've ruined everything for me!" He shouted, veins bulging from his neck with anger.
Evelyn stood completely still, her eyes wide as she gazed up at him. Sam picked up a crying Blake and started toward the door. He paused briefly and glanced back. "You need to behave, alright? Otherwise, I might have to share the second truth, and that one will hurt even more." He smirked before continuing on, with Ava following behind him.
POV: JACKSON
(Bonus scene)
As I entered the torture room, I heard screams and whips cracking. It seemed he still refused to reveal Sam's location. We had been stuck in this situation since I caught him last night; he insisted he had no clue what I was talking about.
I raised my hands to signal for them to stop. "Are you ready to talk now?" I asked the bloodied rogue.
"You'll kill me if I don't, right?" he replied, tilting his injured head to one side.
"Why not spare yourself some pain and just tell me what I need to know?" I stepped closer until I was right in front of him.
"If I tell you, will you spare me?"
"Okay," of course I wasn't going to.
"Sam is at the eighth hideout from where you found us. The witch is there too."
"Eighth hideout from here? Where exactly is that?"
"A little distance before Black Moon Pack."
Black Moon Pack? Isn't that... "That used to be Saint's pack."
"Yes. He's been giving Sam wolves who were prisoners in his pack. But after hearing what happened when Saint was kidnapped last time, he decided to back out."
"That's why the rogues who has been attacking weren't very strong; they were just prisoners." Chris said.
"So you're saying that since he withdrew, there aren't any more rogues available?" I asked.
"Sam has the support of nearly all the rogues from here to the hideout where he is now."
"What did he offer in return? He must have promised you something for your assistance."
"He told us we would have a place in this pack. We wouldn't be limited by the rules and could do whatever we wanted. This pack is one of the strongest in the country, which was perfect for us."
