"Are you sure?" Xander asked, his voice laced with concern.
"Um, I am. When I need your help, I will ask for it and won't shy away from it."
He kissed her nape when he heard that. "That's good. Don't forget that you aren't alone!"
Gloria choked when she heard that.
Indeed, she was no longer alone. There was someone who supported her, believed in her and, above all, didn't manipulate her every moment he got.
Even upon finding her speaking in that manner, he didn't suspect or accuse her of anything bad but simply trusted her. That level of trust was something that she was even willing to remain with Xander for, even if there wouldn't be any love.
"I won't forget hubby," she coyly said, snuggling closer in his embrace. "Talking about them, hubby, do you think that you can lend me a person?"
Upon hearing that, he sniffed her as he asked, "What kind?"
And she whispered in his ears, making his eyes widen in surprise.
"Are you sure?"
