In the DC Universe...
Kane was an ordinary man. A simple office worker who, like millions of others, spent his days in a repetitive cycle of eating, sleeping, and working.
A slave to the capitalist system, living each day in fear of losing his house and car—possessions that could be reduced to ashes at any moment in the battle between a superhero and a supervillain.
Life in this world was hard. The death of millions in a single incident was commonplace.
The complete destruction of a city? A routine event. The world faced the risk of annihilation every week.
But ordinary people like Kane did their best to survive. Especially in Metropolis—the safest city in the world thanks to Superman.
Crime had almost dropped to zero. Who would dare break the law under the watchful eye of a god in human form?
But that very security made Metropolis the prime target for powerful supervillains.
Beings who could fly at Mach 20, with punches that leveled mountains, and bodies that could withstand nuclear explosions.
Every time such entities attacked the city, Metropolis was reduced to rubble.
Kane had survived until today by some miracle.
Today...
Kane, exhausted from his daily work, was heading home when something in a dark alley caught his attention—a shining golden goblet.
Greed, an instinct older than logic, compelled him to pick it up.
The goblet was heavy, with strange carvings on its surface. It seemed to belong to a lost civilization.
"Who would leave something like this in an alley?"
Curious, he made it home. He placed the goblet on the table, washed his hands and face, and then picked it up again.
Moonlight streamed through the window, hitting the goblet and for a moment, a rainbow of light radiated from it.
Kane, with a vivid imagination (thanks to years of reading comics and watching anime), suddenly struck a pose and jokingly said:
"Oh almighty goblet! I wish to become the richest man on Earth!"
Suddenly—
The world trembled.
A rainbow light burst from the goblet and within less than a second, enveloped the entire planet.
This energy distorted reality. Even beings like Superman couldn't resist it.
History was rewritten.
Corporations, factories, properties—everything appeared out of nothing.
The memories of billions of people were altered. Now, in everyone's mind, Kane had always been the richest man in the world.
The only beings immune to this shift in reality were those with cosmic powers—entities capable of manipulating reality themselves.
Kane...
His head was spinning. New memories—memories of limitless wealth—flooded his mind.
He owned the biggest companies in the world.
His bank accounts were so full that even ten generations couldn't spend it all.
Palaces, private islands, art treasures—they all belonged to him.
"Damn... What the hell just happened?!"
Fear consumed him. In the DC Universe, any unknown object could be a curse.
Gods, demons, supernatural forces—any one of them could trap a human soul forever with a simple wish.
Kane knew there were many stories about people like him—fools who played with things they didn't understand.
And their fates were worse than death.
He waited a few minutes.
Nothing happened.
"So... there's no price to pay?"
A foolish grin spread across his face. He gripped the goblet tighter.
Now that he was the richest man in the world, new desires began to form in his mind.
"I could rule like a king... no, like a god!"

Meanwhile...
Samael decided to travel to another world just for fun.
The world of Bleach—a realm full of souls, Shinigami, and Hollows.
A hardcore fan of Aizen, Samael was excited at the thought of seeing him in person.
Maybe he'd even try to become a captain in the Gotei 13.
But he knew one thing well:
Some powers in that world were incredibly useful. Like Yhwach's "The Almighty"—a power that could see the future and nullify any ability.
Or the body parts of the Soul King—a god who created the three realms (the world of the living, the Soul Society, and Hueco Mundo).
"Fusing with the body parts of a creator god? No, that's a stupid idea."
With that thought, Samael opened a portal to the world of Bleach.
