"Don't worry. Since I've decided to do this, I'm not afraid of arguing with him." Laura patted Jessie's hand, signaling her not to worry.
"No, I'm taking you back." Jessie picked up the backpack from the sofa.
She knew William's personality very well, so she just could not let Laura go back alone with Luke; it left her feeling uneasy.
Seeing her insistence, Laura couldn't say much and had to agree.
"Jessie, I've thought it through. If I really end up divorcing your stepdad and taking Luke with me, I might need more of your help in the future."
But this was only temporary. Laura believed in her own abilities and was confident she could stand up again.
