Chapter 73 - Chapter 73: Marine Headquarters Begins Discussing Chris!

East Blue, Marine Branch 16.

"Captain, urgent news to report!"

Outside the wooden door, a young man in his twenties knocked lightly, speaking in a respectful tone.

From inside the room came a sharp, unpleasant voice, like nails on a chalkboard.

With a creak, the young man pushed the door open and entered to deliver his report.

Inside the office, a middle-aged man reclined in his chair, feet propped up on the desk, sipping coffee.

He was the captain of Marine Branch 16 in the East Blue—Ratchet!

"Captain, I just received a call. A powerful pirate crew has entered our East Blue waters."

The young man stood at attention, speaking quickly but carefully.

"According to reports from below, the Krieg Pirates have been annihilated. Their entire crew was wiped out—some fled, others were killed."

"What?!"

Ratchet could no longer remain seated. He swung his legs off the desk and stood up, his face filled with shock.

"Did you just say the Krieg Pirates were wiped out?!"

"How is that possible?! He had thousands of men under him, dozens of ships—who could possibly destroy him?!"

"Are the lower ranks spreading false reports? Investigate this immediately!"

The young man kept his head lowered, not daring to meet his gaze, and quickly explained.

"Captain, we've already verified the situation. It's true."

"At the Baratie, the floating restaurant, the two crews clashed, and a battle broke out."

"The Krieg Pirates stood no chance—they were completely annihilated."

The young man handed over a stack of papers and said humbly,

"Captain, here's the information on the opposing pirate crew. Please take a look."

Without hesitation, Ratchet snatched the papers and began reading.

"Captain Chris, Devil Fruit user..."

Ratchet's eyes darted across the page, his expression shifting rapidly as he absorbed the details.

Whether it was the captain's overwhelming strength or the terrifying power of his division commanders, each one was a monstrous force.

From the reports, Krieg and his men were like lambs to the slaughter—utterly crushed without resistance.

"Damn it! Those bastards!"

Ratchet slammed the papers onto the desk, his face twisting with rage as he cursed viciously.

"Where the hell did these pirates come from?! Why did they have to come to the East Blue?!"

"Damn it all! Why not go somewhere else?! Why here, of all places?!"

"No, no—these guys are too dangerous. We have to report this!"

Ratchet's face paled with fear as he muttered to himself.

"They're ruthless, bloodthirsty criminals! We have to inform headquarters and let them handle this!"

"Yes, that's what we'll do. No other choice."

"Alright, you're dismissed. I'll take care of this."

The young man acknowledged the order and quickly turned to leave.

As soon as the door closed, he let out a sigh of relief.

This Ratchet captain lived up to his name—a scheming, greedy coward.

Everyone in the branch feared him, not daring to speak out of turn.

Marine Headquarters, Marineford.

At this moment, inside the conference room, the atmosphere was tense.

Suddenly, Brannew strode in, holding a stack of documents.

"Fleet Admiral Sengoku, we've just received an urgent report. Please take a look."

He handed the documents over respectfully and stood quietly to the side.

Borsalino, lounging in his chair with his legs crossed, smirked and said in his usual lazy tone,

"Oh? Another shocking report? Please don't scare me like this, yare yare..."

Brannew glanced at him and replied calmly,

"East Blue Branch 16 has reported that a powerful pirate crew has entered their waters."

"And with terrifying ease, they annihilated the strongest pirate crew in the East Blue."

Garp immediately turned his head, grinning.

"Go on, tell us more! This old man's interested!"

"Finally, some action in the East Blue—the most peaceful sea! Hahaha!"

Yamakaji smiled warmly at Garp and added,

"Speaking of which, the East Blue is your hometown, isn't it, Vice Admiral Garp?"

Brannew nodded.

"Indeed, the East Blue has always been the most stable of the four seas, with almost no major disturbances."

By now, Sengoku had finished reading the report. He looked at Brannew and said sternly,

"Proceed. Brief everyone on the situation."

"Yes, Fleet Admiral!"

Brannew faced the assembled officers and began his detailed explanation.

"This pirate crew calls themselves the Chris Pirates, and their strength is extraordinary."

"At the Baratie, the most famous restaurant in the East Blue, the two crews clashed."

"Captain Chris didn't even lift a finger—his division commanders wiped out the enemy in three minutes."

"After receiving the report, we analyzed the information and discovered something crucial."

"The ships they're using originally belonged to the White Demon Pirates, the former rulers of the North Blue."

"Based on our deductions, the White Demon Pirates were likely annihilated, and their ships were stolen."

Brannew's mind was sharp, and he relayed all the details clearly, ensuring everyone understood the gravity of the situation.

Once he finished, Sengoku tapped the desk and said gravely,

"Let's discuss this. This crew warrants our attention."

"Hahaha! This is great!"

Garp burst into laughter, slamming his fist on the table.

"The East Blue finally has an interesting brat causing trouble! I'd love to meet him right now!"

"DAMN IT, GARP! CAN YOU BE SERIOUS FOR ONCE?!"

Sengoku roared, veins bulging on his forehead as he scolded the carefree vice admiral.
