Felix shows me one of his rehearsal video. It's fun. He explains each scenes and everything related such as what costume he will wear, what's the meaning behind each song choices.
He puts back his phone and replaying the 80s playlist. I feel old but in a good way.
"By the way," I murmur, resting my cheek against Felix's chest, "you can ask me anything too."
There's a beat of silence, like he's weighing the question in his mind. His hand moves in a slow rhythm up and down my forearm, thumb grazing lazily over my skin.
Then he speaks, his voice lower than before. "What did you do … in the orphanage?"
I freeze. The air thins around me. My eyes stay fixed on his shirt, on the way the fabric folds near his collarbone. I didn't expect that question. Not here. Not now.
He shifts slightly, just enough to glance down at me. "Are you … planning to adopt with Elliot?"
