The A-grade Dragon Scale that Nina recommended was indeed exceptional, but it was what Jacob needed least at the moment. As soon as he captured one more Dragon-type Pokémon, Jacob would already have six A-grade Dragon Scales in his account. He wouldn't waste this valuable opportunity on something he could soon acquire elsewhere.

"Let me look around a bit more," Jacob said, politely declining Nina's suggestion. He began walking slowly through the Dragon treasure section, carefully examining each display case.

"A-grade Dragon Fang."

"A-grade Dragon Gem."

In the games, Dragon Gems were one-time items that enhanced the power of a Dragon-type move. In reality, however, items like Dragon Gems were rechargeable. After being used once, they could be utilized again after recharging, which was quite convenient.

Nevertheless, Jacob remained somewhat dissatisfied with just an A-grade item. Having finally earned this opportunity, he was reluctant to settle for anything less than exceptional.

The Dragon treasure section wasn't extensive, and Jacob had to admit everything was impressive, but nothing truly captured his interest. Since he could select only one treasure, Jacob didn't rush his decision and continued exploring.

Behind the Dragon treasure section lay another area—the largest in the entire vault.

"Unknown Mysterious Items Section."

Jacob walked in and soon found himself staring at items that left him shocked. Seven or eight Mega Stones and two Key Stones were displayed in a glass case with a simple label:

"Mysterious gems, extremely luminous, beautiful in appearance, and incredibly hard. These stones appear to contain powerful energy, but their development and utilization remain unknown at present."

How embarrassing!

Truthfully, Jacob wanted nothing more than to grab these Mega Stones and Key Stones and leave the vault without looking back. After brief consideration, however, he calmed himself and suppressed the impulse.

He realized that selecting these stones would create an official record of his visit.

"October 10th: Jacob, ID number XXX, received mysterious gems from the Pokémon Association headquarters."

When Mega Evolution was eventually announced, the Pokémon Association would certainly remember that Mega Stones and Key Stones had been stored in their vault. A quick check of the records would reveal that all these valuable items were in Jacob's possession. With so many Mega Stones in his hands, he would inevitably become everyone's target!

A tree that stands taller than the forest invites the wind's destruction. If Jacob took just one or two stones, he might be fine, but taking so many would be problematic. Neither his family nor the Lin family would have sufficient influence to safeguard these Mega Stones. When the Association came knocking, Jacob might be fortunate enough to keep a few, but most would certainly be confiscated.

Jacob wasn't willing to settle for just a small piece of the prize—he wanted all the Mega Stones and Key Stones without the Pokémon Association knowing they were in his possession.

But how?

Jacob pondered potential solutions. He suddenly remembered that one of the rewards for the College Cup included an opportunity to select items from the vault, though he couldn't recall exactly what placement was required.

Top 8 or top 4? Probably top 8.

Anyone who reached the national top 8 would earn a chance to select a treasure. Jacob stood there thinking for a while and soon developed two plans.

The first plan was admittedly foolish: train someone capable of reaching the national top 8, have them enter the College Cup, earn the opportunity to select treasures, take the Mega Stones and Key Stones, and finally give them to Jacob.

This plan was exceedingly difficult. Jacob wasn't even certain he could reach the top eight nationally, so how could he train someone else to achieve it? The idea was nonsensical.

Moreover, once that person took the stones, they would inevitably be discovered by the Pokémon Association when Mega Evolution became public knowledge. At that point, Jacob would have no choice but to either eliminate this person or help them escape while concealing his own involvement. Thinking it through, the plan was clearly unrealistic.

The more Jacob considered it, the more he recognized the plan's impracticality. The ideal was grand, but reality was too harsh—too difficult to implement.

The second plan was simpler and more direct, summarized in one word: money. Use financial resources to have someone retrieve these Mega Stones and Key Stones. This way, Jacob wouldn't need to appear personally, as long as he concealed his identity throughout the process. The cost would undoubtedly be substantial, but this plan was feasible and had a high probability of success.

Three core issues needed addressing: First, who would be the proxy? This person must have access to the vault to select treasures and be willing to exchange them for money. Second, funding. Jacob needed to prepare sufficient money or valuable trade items. Third, identity concealment. He must ensure his involvement remained hidden from beginning to end, so the Pokémon Association could only trace their investigation to the proxy!

If these three challenges could be overcome, the solution would definitely work.

"Do you like these stones?" Nina, standing nearby, couldn't help asking when she noticed Jacob lingering for so long.

"No," Jacob quickly denied, hoping to avoid arousing Nina's suspicion. "I was just thinking about something. Let's continue looking around."

The display cases throughout this section contained mostly strange and unique items. Among them, Jacob discovered Wishing Stars, Wishing Star Fragments, and other related objects.

These items made Jacob envious. With just two more Wishing Stars, he could complete the prerequisite for one of his Dynamax tasks.

Jacob really wanted them, and considering all the treasures he had seen, he momentarily entertained the idea of becoming a villain and raiding the entire vault. But he only dared think about it.

As they continued forward, they began encountering increasingly bizarre items. Some appeared useless, while others were mysterious objects whose purposes remained undiscovered.

As they neared the end of the section, Jacob suddenly spotted an item in a corner display case that made his entire body tremble.

It was a broken gem, quietly placed in a display case with a label:

"Broken Gem. Extremely hard and remarkably beautiful in appearance. Contains small amounts of Dragon energy and Psychic energy. Purpose unknown."

When Jacob saw the broken crystal, his system automatically displayed detailed information about the item.

[Broken Soul Dew]: After being damaged, the Soul Dew has lost most of its functionality but still retains traces of Dragon and Psychic energy.

"Ding! Mission triggered: Eon Siblings."

[Eon Siblings]: The Eon Siblings are legendary Psychic and Dragon-type Pokémon, Latias and Latios. They possess the ability to become invisible, can communicate with humans through telepathy, and are incredibly powerful. Although this broken Soul Dew has lost most of its functions, once repaired, it can still be used once to summon either Latios or Latias.

Mission requirements: Collect S-grade Psychic items and S-grade Dragon items to repair the Soul Dew. Once repaired, you can use the broken Soul Dew once to locate Alto Mare's hidden sanctuary and summon either Latios or Latias.

Prerequisite 0: Collect S-grade Psychic items (0/1)

Prerequisite 0: Collect S-grade Dragon items (0/1)
