Archer was pissed off,
"You! Why are you acting so innocent? Cecilia, if you have shame, you should die!"
Sophia rolled her eyes and smiled,
"No, I don't have any shame. Because any person would realize how peculiar the situation is. You say you love, but instead of believing me and figuring out the situation with me, you accuse me...what a lovely childhood sweetheart!"
Archer was stunned, pointing a finger at Sophia with an exasperated expression, he said,
"You...f*ck you! I am taking the money as compensation."
Without giving a chance, he turned around and ran away.
Sophia was furious and chased him; however, her head started to spin, and she fell.
'Is this the moment my husband will arrive and hold me?' She thought.
However, what awaited her wasn't some handsome face zooming in but pain in her back and head.
"Ouch!" Sophia gritted her teeth from the pain.
Looking at the retreating back of Archer, Sophia wanted to transform into a dog and chase him.
"God, if you're listening, may he get loose motions and not find a toilet. While smile he farts! And choke on a drink every time he is flirting!" She muttered in her heart.
Feeling the needle like gaze of everyone, Sophia rolled her eyes and stood up.
Their judgmental gaze could hardly faze Sophia. Her manager used to glare at her every time after she had caught him with his affair partner.
Patting off the dust, she stood up and walked out of the Civil Affairs Bureau.
"Where should I start. Should I return to the Parker family? Hm... nope. From the system's description, they might be the ones who are behind this hidden marriage facade.
Hm... I should just take the help of the cops. As long as I ask for a documentation review, I will be able to see the name of my spouse, right?" Sophia thought.
Gurgle.
A biting pain in her stomach made Sophia realise how hungry she was.
"I should first buy something to eat." She softly whispered. Checking her pockets, she found a 50-dollar bill and sighed,
"At least I am not starting with zero."
With that, Sophia found a nearby convenience store.
As she was passing by, her eyes fell on one of the glasses, reflecting her current apperance.
For a moment, she was stunned.
"Hey! Who is this drop-dead gorgeous beauty?"
The woman staring back at Sophia had beautiful blonde hair, which was tied in a messy bun and a tiara sitting at the top.
Her face, which was devoid of any makeup, looked a bit dry, but Sophia had the confidence that with proper skincare, her skin would become as smooth as an egg.
To top it all, she had beautiful, ocean blue eyes. Eyes capable of mesmerizing anyone.
She placed her hand on her cheeks and smiled happily,
"God... this must be a compensation for giving me average looks in my past life! Ah! Beauty! I am a beauty!"
[Host, you are acting like a pervert!]
Sophia clicked her tongue and chided the system,
"Let's be honest, you are jealous because I look beautiful while you can only be an orange tabby! Haha!"
Her laughter echoed on the street, causing the passerby to give weird glances to Sophia.
[Host, you might end up in a mental hospital at this rate.]
Sophia ignored the system and stares directed by the crowd.
She has always believed that people will have 100 opinions about you, even if you are covered from head to toe.
So don't give them a f*ck and live the way you want.
She walked into the convenience store and noticed that there was no one at the counter.
It was a self-checkout store.
The store wasn't crowded; there were hardly any customers. With a clear goal in her mind, Sophia walked toward the cup noodle section and found a $4.99 cup noodle.
"Ah, with a good cup of noodles, a dark chocolate! What a combination it would be!" Sophia sighed.
Back in her world, others might have thought that the combination was weird, but for Sophia, it was heaven.
In the orphanage where Sophia was raised, chocolate was a luxury, especially dark chocolate.
So after Sophia secured a high-paying job, the first gift she gave to herself was the dark chocolate.
As for cup noodles, the children at the orphanage used to eat cup noodles almost 28 days out of 30.
Slowly, it became a habit to the point that Sophia often ate cup noodles when she wasn't dining out or attending an event.
Her ex-boyfriend was distressed by her habits, lectured her on how they were unhealthy, and Sophia was forced to change her habits.
Now that she was in a completely different world, she felt a bit nervous. So the cup noodles were to calm the small anxiety creeping in her heart.
[Host, only psychopaths eat dark chocolate.]
Sophia rolled her eyes,
"Indeed, I am a psychopath, just you wait, when you transform into a cat, I will roast you and have a cat soup."
[Eww... you are gross. Eating a cat? You are going way below the belt.]
Sophia ignored the system's chattering and found the chocolate section.
Seeing a single dark chocolate on the rack, Sophia sighed in her heart, as she extended her hand and muttered in her heart,
"Even the heavens want to fulfil my cravings! Since that is the matter, I will grace the heaven..."
The moment she held the chocolate, another pale hand held it too.
Sophia blinked and turned to look at the two-legged parasite who was trying to rob her dark chocolate.
A pair of deep, dark eyes crashed into a pair of ocean blue eyes, and the atmosphere stilled.
