I felt so relaxed telling Nicole what I have never told anyone, anyone but Idris of course who really didn't need to be told since he had shared most of the experience with me. I could see the sympathetic look on her face, and as much as I hated every trace of sympathy towards me, I welcomed it wholeheartedly from Nicole. Crazy right?
I could never feel more relieved than I felt when unlike every other person except Idris, Nicole had believed me. She did not only believe me, she also tried to make me feel better, and less guilty about that night, telling me that it wasn't my fault. Of course that didn't work. In fact it would never work. The guilt of that night will continue to prick my conscience for the rest of my life. If I hadn't been stupid enough to refuse help to someone who needed it only because I was jealous that she had gone ahead with my friends without me.
