After talking for a while, Adam and Alina both left the park. The cool night air was a relief after the heavy conversation. As soon as Adam, in Eric's body, returned to the assigned dormitory room, his allotted time was up. The control he held over Eric's body expired. He receded back to his own internal domain.
As soon as he was gone, Eric's own consciousness came flooding back into his body. He saw that he was standing in his small hostel room. He looked out the window at the dark sky and the glowing magical lamps outside. He understood that it was already nighttime. He felt a deep sense of confusion.
Eric was very surprised by Alina's last words. She had asked to talk to someone named Adam.
He didn't understand. He said in a low voice to himself, "Adam? Is he a boy who is in Alina's class? Why would she ask me to find him?" He felt a pang of something strange.
