The man exuded danger from head to toe at that moment.
Bonnie's scalp tingled, her pupils quaking. She watched in shock as this beast of a man strode toward her without hesitation. Swallowing nervously, she glanced around, then threw back the covers and dove into bed, rolling herself up like a cocoon in lightning speed!
Derek paused mid-step.
Bonnie poked only her head out, batting her large eyes smugly at him.
Her delicate, fair face was framed by long curled lashes, and her small hands clutched the blanket tightly. In that moment, she looked adorably innocent.
Derek raised a hand to his lips, and after a beat, let out a low chuckle. His alluring, fox-like eyes curved charmingly as he slowly approached the bed and leaned down.
Bonnie's lashes fluttered slightly, but she showed no fear.
His arms braced on either side of her face, their distance barely a breath apart. He looked into her eyes, his voice low and magnetic. "When did you get back?"
"Not long ago."
