So I just watched Superman, and I want to share my review—with some light spoilers.
The movie was perfect. Not in the sense of being a flawless film, but as a superhero movie, it was everything it needed to be. I never really understood what The people Who saw it early meant when they said that—until now. Everything about it feels bright, fantastical, and alive.
Do you remember that jellyfish-like creature we saw in the background of one of the trailers? In the movie, it turns out to be some kind of dimensional being, and Superman just casually mentions it while a fight is going on in the background. He doesn't even care. Why? Because in this world, superpowered beings have been around for 300 years. That's part of the movie's background—this universe is already used to the insane, the strange, and the impossible.
You really get that feeling when you see it in full. If you don't quite understand what's great about it—it's because it genuinely feels like a comic book brought to life. All the wild dimensional stuff, creatures, and casual chaos—it's all just part of everyday life for them now. And that's very comic-accurate.
As for Superman himself? He was exactly what he's supposed to be: a symbol of hope. I actually felt emotional watching him. He was inspiring, genuine, and surprisingly funny—not the boring boy scout stereotype at all.
There were a few cameos too. Peacemaker showed up, and even Maxwell Lord made an appearance. That guy's going to show up again in Peacemaker Season 2, by the way.
I'm not the best at reviews, but that's everything I wanted to say. If you want to see how great a Superman story can be, go watch this movie. You won't regret it.
PS I'm looking forward for the fantastic four but after seeing this my expectations get higher for the fantastic so I might be disappointed. Hopefully I will not.
