Chapter 38 - An ancient Dragon...

The air was ancient.

Heavy.

Thick with forgotten magic and age-old despair.

The chamber stretched wide like a forgotten cathedral, its ceiling lost to darkness. Bioluminescent crystals dimly lit craggy walls, casting long, trembling shadows. Whispers echoed faintly—residue of incantations layered over centuries, woven into the very stone like veins in a fossil.

Chains thicker than tree trunks snaked through the air—glowing, rune-bound, and humming with suppression. They looped and coiled with ritualistic precision, binding something massive in the heart of the abyss.

And that something moved.

A groan of strained metal followed as one claw scraped against the ancient floor. A tail the length of a fortress wall shifted behind it with a dull, bone-rattling thud.

Then, slowly—

Two enormous, slit-pupil eyes flared open.

Golden.

Primordial.

They pierced the dark like judgment.

A low growl followed, deep and thunderous, like mountains grinding against one another.
