Names began being called out. In groups between twenty and thirty. – Then a teacher was called over to take the group.
They waited patiently by the side as the peculiar event continued. – More and more are being called as the two other people on the stage left
On it were only two people now! The blind and the fox. – A poor group of two. After all, in theory, he had to remain with her.
The principal swiftly changed her papers. – Finally moving on to the last group, or well, class.
In some kind of glorious tonality. She called out their names. – Finally, they stepped down the stage with some sighs. Making their way with some ease towards the group. – Or, well, the relative ease when taking care of a blind person.
"And with that. – We are glad to announce the start of this year's school year. And wish everyone good luck, and we hope that the young ones will get along!"
It was clear by the way it sounded that the last part was the only one not written in advance. –Tris cackled lightly at that fact. His ears offered a flicker, while Nora chuckled, too!
Perhaps the day was truly not that bad. – Just had a rough start, but it has been going smoothly. – At least relatively smoothly. – Unless we count that very entertaining and fun morning.
Not that Tris would call it fun. – That, for sure, would be the dear angelic figure standing next to him. – The group began moving as the assigned teacher proceeded to walk along with the other leaving groups.
Seemingly, they were heading towards the school itself. Tris assumed they were going to the classroom. And Nora pretty much assumed the same.
And as such, they group entered, the teacher heading east. – At quite a fast pace. Not wishing to be late.
Taking that fact. Tris already knew their room was going to be on the second floor. – All the classrooms they walked by held the grade twelves; they wouldn't place them around those troublemakers.
Or at least that's what he hoped. If they would? – He can not assure Rose that this year will end without him ending someone's life. – Why? He has heard stories about this years classes. The twelve graders were chaotic. To a stupid degree. Even when compared to our lovely fox that was present right here!
The fox was indeed right, as they stepped to the side and got right into the hallway leading to the stairs! – Seems like he was quite the smart one! Deducing information was a skill he had. And he loved it.
Being one move ahead all the time was quite the skill. – After all, one move could be the one that decides the outcome of combat in an equal matchup. – Sigh, combat was all he could think about, wasn't it?
Yeah, it was, and poetry, English, and fun projects for that matter... – That just was his personality! – Sly, Cunning, Very Bitchy. – And I don't think we need to keep going! He was complex. Simple and Plain on the outside, though.
And step by step, they went up the stairs with some type of swiftness... – Or well, the speed of 30 children on a small set of stairs going up! – Yeah, it wasn't that fast, but it was something in his eyes!
The teacher moved in front, simply leading the group to a certain classroom. Pressing the handle and stepping inside! – Her head turning back with a sweet smile as she waited for people to enter.
"Right Right! For the time being, take any seat. – Changes will be made in the future as I see fit. – For clear reasons."
She spoke, taking a step back as she pulled the chair from her own desk. – Moving and taking a seat! – Her eyes were looking at the children as they were moving to also take their own seats!
Tris guided Nora around, as they took two spots in the back left corner, away from the window. – Why? – The fox did not need a Rose or Fen to spy on him during class time... They did that a year ago. In middle school.
Yeah, his middle school life was quite chaotic. – And there was nothing he could do about it apart from getting his anger out on Fen and Rose! – Which he sometimes did, but it was not that often. – He was not an asshole.
At least for now he was not an asshole. Simply giving a small smile to everyone around him. He liked his spot, and Nora did not need to see anything in the end. – Well, she did. But they did not need to know that.
Everyone went silent as the teacher stood up. – Basically demanding attention from the children, at least for the current moment. – He wondered what was the first thing they wished to discuss...
Perhaps the woman's name? – Classes? – Subject she taught? – There were quite many options. And Tris could hardly be lucky enough to guess what exactly it would be.
"Alright. My name is Abigail Norov, and I will be your teacher for the next four years. – I teach Art! – So I am happy to have quite the open minded students from what I can see!"
The woman spoke with a big smile. – Clearly with years of experience under her belt. She knew what she was doing, and already had some plans in her mind from the looks of it! But it was hard to tell.
Hard to tell to a normal person that, is. Tris just saw through it, he was far from normal. – He knew she had some kind of plan, but he was curious, rather bothered by it. – Mainly taking the previous generations.
From what he has heard, mostly from Nora. – The previous generations, for the past four years, were chaotic. Growing less over time, but still too much for the teacher's liking. – And he kind of understood that, to an extent.
Teachers always wished to have the perfect classroom. – Always wished to have the perfect model students and the such. – No fighting, no nothing. Which was troublesome, taking ninth graders were... Very influenced by older people.
Then there were also the troublesome ones. – Smoking, drinking and the such. Vaping even. – Tris could smell the smoke on people the moment he walked into the group. His senses were sharp.
At the start, the smell was high. – But he managed to push it to the side and avoided gagging over it. – Disgusting, it truly was; he never understood why people liked smoking, and drinking was meh. But he preferred tea and non alcoholic beer for some reason.
Nora, he could feel, was the same on those topics. Only seeing her with some types of natural soda. – He wondered if that was connected to the fact that she was an angel, though. – There was the chance of that.
She gave a small sigh. Her thoughts were short; she did not have the time to think like Tris. Time was just normal, and she carefully listened to the teacher. Arranging the blindfold on her eyes to make sure it stood neatly.
The classmates were a little bit loud, but also silent. – The normal average. A balance, after all, everyone was unique. – But Tris could handle that with ease. He was not one to interact socially, though. He would just stick to Nora.
"I wish to lay down a few straight rules for the group of you.. – One, please, behave properly. I place a very high price on how other teachers look at the class. – At worst, you get moved to the front."
The older teacher spoke, laying down the first rule. – Yeah, that was common sense and simple. But she wanted it to be at least mentioned. That part was normal. – Thought unlikely it will be followed by everyone.
"Two, if I catch you smoking or drinking at any time. – I won't be calling your parents... You will tell them yourself."
For a moment, he was surprised, until she ended the pause and mentioned the last part. – Yeah, that made sense. But little did she know it was highly likely most of them already knew and allowed it. Stupid, I know. – But those are some parents.
"Three. If anyone is failing at ANY type of class. They get moved to the front. – You will move yourself. I don't wish to hear any comment about it."
And that was the third! This one was genuinely good. It gave them the best chances to get a passing grade. – So it was smart, Tris giving a small nod of approval to that one rule. – Liking it himself.
Psychologically wise, it was making them, or well, forcing them to pay attention. – Grabbing some information automatically. – Making it easier to get a passing grade. – So once more, he told himself it was a good idea.
"Right, now moving on. I wish for every one of you to stand up and introduce yourselves, starting with that corner, and ending there."
She spoke, pointing at the end, that being Tris himself! – Damn, that was good. He could at least waste some of their laughs on someone else. – And if he did something bad, they would not laugh as much.
With that, the students began in a line, each one of them introducing themselves one by one!
