How could Yu Tianheng possibly be charmed so easily by Hu Liena? Not only did he possess over ten levels of soul power more than her, along with a far more powerful spirit, but he also had a spirit bone gifted to him by Yu Tianming that greatly enhanced his mental strength. In his eyes, Hu Liena's coquettish posturing was nothing more than a clown's act.
"Hurry up and use your skills. Don't waste time." Before Hu Liena could even open her mouth, Yu Tianheng said flatly.
Hearing this, Hu Liena snorted coldly and immediately activated her spirit. A large, fluffy tail began to sway behind her. She turned to the referee and spoke coldly. "We've both released our spirits. Can you start the match now?"
The referee didn't waste words. "Thunderclap Academy versus Spirit Hall Academy. Second individual match begins!"
Though Hu Liena was a control-type soul master with mental abilities, her speed rivaled that of agility-types. As soon as the referee spoke, her figure shot toward Yu Tianheng like a pink flash, her giant tail trailing behind her.
But Yu Tianheng had already raised a large hand and blocked her charge perfectly.
Ding—a crisp sound echoed as Hu Liena rebounded to her original position.
"A feint? Or probing my defenses?" Yu Tianheng looked at his unscathed palm, then glanced coldly at Hu Liena. "You're clever, but that still can't bridge the gap between us."
Though she was the core of the Golden Generation, and not as outwardly intimidating as Yan or Xie Yue, Hu Liena's tactical insight and agile movement made her arguably the strongest of the three.
Yet, before Yu Tianheng, she felt an oppressive pressure for the first time in her life—her charm was useless, and her attacks couldn't crack his defense.
Before Yu Tianheng could make a move, Hu Liena raised her voice. "Referee, we concede. We voluntarily forfeit this match and will compete against Thunderclap Academy this afternoon for the final spot in the championship."
Down below, Yan, who had just regained consciousness, slammed his fist into the ground, face twisted in frustration. "How is this kid from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Clan so strong? He's clearly younger than us, and he's already a Soul Emperor. How are we supposed to win?!"
"Yan," Xie Yue crossed his arms, his voice cold. "Even if Yu Tianheng is strong, as long as we win the loser's bracket and make it to the team finals, Nana and I can use our Spirit Fusion Technique to defeat him in one strike."
Yan sighed helplessly. "Let's hope I recover enough by then…"
Xie Yue looked at the dazed Hu Liena and fell into deep thought.
On the high platform, as Hu Liena conceded the match, Bibi Dong turned slightly, eyes filled with meaning as she looked toward Yu Tianming. Her voice was soft. "The Blue Lightning Tyrant Clan truly produces talent. Not only do they have you, the youngest Titled Douluo in history, but now Yu Tianheng also has Soul Emperor-level strength at such a young age. Truly fascinating..."
Her eyes gleamed with dark light—bottomless, like an abyss.
Yu Tianming smiled faintly, shook his head, and said nothing.
…
Several hours later, the teams returned to the Supreme Pontiff Palace after a short rest.
As captain of the Heaven Dou Royal Team, Yu Tianxin stepped onto the stage first, his expression casual, as if certain of victory.
After Yu Tianheng's overwhelming display, Spirit Hall's team had lost their confidence. Now, seeing Yu Tianheng's brother standing onstage with such ease, a chilling thought crept into everyone's mind.
"Yan is still injured, and Xie Yue needs to conserve his strength. Let me test Yu Tianxin." As the team exchanged glances, Hu Liena stepped onto the stage again.
With her spirit activated, she narrowed her eyes at Yu Tianxin.
He was tall and slim, a long violet tail curved in the air behind him, swaying gently. Clearly, like Yu Tianheng, his spirit had evolved. Based on his physique, he leaned more toward agility-attack.
Most importantly, beneath Yu Tianxin's feet shone six spirit rings—he too was a Soul Emperor.
Hu Liena's hope for victory began to waver. These spirit bones were supposed to be her reward—was Spirit Hall really going to finish third and let the two Blue Lightning Tyrant teams take the crown? That would make the Golden Generation a joke.
Faced with such consequences, the pressure surged like a tidal wave. She stared hard at Yu Tianxin, whispering to herself, 'If I can just wear him down a little, maybe Xie Yue will have a chance. That's the only way we win.'
Once both sides had completed their spirit attachments, the referee waved his hand.
"Heaven Dou Royal Academy's Yu Tianxin versus Spirit Hall Academy's vice-captain Hu Liena. Battle, begin!"
The moment the words left the referee's mouth, Yu Tianxin tapped his toes and floated into the air, gazing proudly at Hu Liena's charging form.
But before she could even reach him, a streak of purple lightning appeared and struck her mid-dash. She froze mid-movement.
Her wide eyes were dazed, a trail of saliva dripped from her lips. Clearly, she'd lost consciousness. Moments later, her body slumped backward.
Seeing her fall, Bibi Dong's body tensed. She had poured all her motherly affection into Hu Liena. Seeing her hurt, she couldn't hide the killing intent flashing in her eyes. If not for her status, she would've rushed down immediately.
After Hu Liena's defeat, Spirit Hall's remaining members took the stage one after another, each doing their best to exhaust Yu Tianxin.
But Yu Tianxin was already a Soul Emperor, while Spirit Hall only had a few Soul Kings and a half-healed Yan. Each one that stepped up was sent flying back to the medics—some defeated with nothing more than a casual arc of lightning.
Within minutes, Spirit Hall's final competitor, Xie Yue, stepped forward grimly, facing Yu Tianxin, who hadn't even budged the entire time.
On the viewing platform, Bibi Dong's face darkened even further. She had prepared the soul bones to reward her disciples—but now, Spirit Hall wasn't even making the finals. It was a disgrace.
Xie Yue summoned his spirit—Moon Blades. Two crescent-shaped, handleless weapons hovered in his hands.
The referee swallowed hard, then bellowed, "Match start!"
In an instant, Xie Yue's strange light surged. His rings flickered as he turned into a whirlwind, disappearing along with his twin blades.
A massive white disk flew at Yu Tianxin like a spinning crescent moon.
He knew he had only one shot. If he didn't strike first, he'd lose before making a move.
This was his self-created spirit skill—Full Moon. A seamless, silent attack. His twin blades fused and spun with terrifying force, making no sound, just glowing white.
Yu Tianxin, fast as he was, could only dodge the initial strike.
But to his shock, the spinning moon curved in midair and came back for a second hit.
His eyes darkened. This move countered him perfectly.
The Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon was not weak defensively, but all his soul skills were geared toward offense. This extreme focus left little room for defense—and now it showed.
Realizing he had no time to react further, Yu Tianxin released a burst of violet lightning, his voice echoing through the storm.
"Lingling, prepare to heal."
BOOM!
Lightning roared across the arena. When it cleared, a charred Xie Yue lay unconscious behind Yu Tianxin. Ye Lingling's Nine-Heart Begonia glowed with healing light.
The referee hesitated, then shouted, "Heaven Dou Royal Academy wins!"
Looking at the fallen Xie Yue, Yu Tianxin's face remained grim. He knew his mistake—becoming overconfident after defeating six opponents so easily. He hadn't used any skills at first, and when ambushed by Xie Yue, he nearly lost.
Even a Soul Emperor focused on offense could fall to a powerful Soul King.
Realizing this, he had no choice but to use a potentially lethal lightning strike.
Seeing Spirit Hall defeated, Bibi Dong rose with a dark expression and raised her staff.
"Spirit Hall Academy is eliminated. Thunderclap and Heaven Dou Royal Academy advance to the finals. The championship match will be held in three days. Prepare yourselves."
Then she turned and left, face ashen. She had invested everything into this tournament, but now the Blue Lightning Tyrant Clan had claimed both top spots. Her own team didn't even make the finals—utter humiliation.
Before she could leave, Yu Tianxin raised his voice.
"Your Holiness, Heaven Dou Royal Academy voluntarily withdraws. We concede the championship to Thunderclap Academy."
Bibi Dong turned back, eyes blazing. "Are you certain? Winning the Soul Master Tournament is the highest honor for a young soul master. Are you willing to give that up?"
"I'm certain, Your Holiness," Yu Tianxin said firmly.
Both top teams belonged to the Blue Lightning Tyrant Clan. He had no need to contest the championship—and after nearly letting Spirit Hall reach the finals due to his carelessness, the honor belonged to Yu Tianheng.
Bibi Dong stared at the two Blue Lightning Tyrant teams and slowly pulled out the three soul bones meant for the champion.
