Night had fallen. Agus, Raden, and Raka stopped to rest at a spot. Raden turned to Agus with another question.
"Agus, are you sure that information is legit? I'm worried we might be walking into someone's trap," said Raden.
"Ha… what else can we do? Honestly, I don't really believe that news either. But it's our only chance to survive…"
"… You know it too—every shelter we've gone to has already been destroyed. That's why we should at least try our luck at the place they mentioned on the radio."
Raden and Raka also felt like this was their only chance to survive in a world that had turned into hell, so they agreed to go.
After finishing dinner, they went into the tent and planned to continue their journey the next day, after gathering supplies.
The sun rose from the east, signaling the arrival of a new day. The three of them got ready to continue their journey.
After gathering food supplies, they proceeded on their way to the shelter located in Trolak.
After five hours of walking, they finally arrived in Slim River and rested at a homestay, the same place Ilyas, Khai, and Luna had rested before.
They decided to take a break there. After a few minutes of rest, they went out to find some food. While searching for a shop, they saw Ilyas, Khai, and Luna walking.
The three of them were shocked, as this was the first time they had seen other living humans besides themselves.
The trio decided to follow Ilyas and Khai. Unbeknownst to them, Ilyas and Khai had already realized they were being followed.
"Ilyas…"
"Relax. They're not dangerous," Ilyas replied.
Khai, hearing this, felt at ease because he trusted everything Ilyas said 100%. Ilyas and Khai continued their journey without paying any attention to the trio following them.
Ilyas and Khai arrived at a food stall. Ilyas instructed Khai to watch over Luna while he went to find food.
Agus, seeing Ilyas enter the stall, started thinking of a plan. He then told Raden and Raka about it.
"Raden, Raka, come here. I've got a plan," Agus said.
"What is it?" Raden asked.
"What if we try to rob them?" Agus said.
"Are you crazy?! I'm scared just stealing candy from kids, let alone taking stuff from them?!" Raden replied.
"Relax. There's three of us, and only two of them…"
"… Besides, they're just kids. We're adults, we've got jobs. There's no way we should be scared of some immature kids," Agus reasoned.
The two of them, after hearing that, started thinking it over. They agreed to go along with Agus's plan.
They picked up something like a wooden stick and an iron rod to threaten Khai, who was with Luna.
"Hey!" shouted Agus.
Khai, who had been playing with Luna, stood up and walked out. He saw the three of them standing there, holding weapons.
"Give us everything you've got and hand it over quickly. If not, you'll face the consequences," Agus said.
Khai, seeing this, almost laughed. Agus, noticing that Khai was about to laugh, grew angry.
"What are you laughing at? Do you think this is funny? Hurry up and give it! If you don't..."
"What, beat me to death? Forcefully snatch?Or are you just threatening me?"
"… Then I'll take the baby." Agus said, pointing a wooden stick at Luna.
Khai, hearing that, grew slightly angry and slowly walked toward the three of them.
"Heh... I figure if I beat you guys up, maybe then you'll realize what nonsense you were talking just now." Khai said, adjusting the weighted bracelet on his wrist.
Even though the three of them were armed and had the numbers on their side, not a single one dared to step closer to Khai.
"What's wrong? Weren't you just saying you were gonna do all sorts of things to me? I'm right here now. So why are you backing off? Scared?" Khai said mockingly.
Hearing that only made the three of them angrier, and they charged at Khai together.
After spending a few minutes gathering food, Ilyas stepped out and saw Luna left alone at the table.
"This guy… if you were gonna deal with them, at least wait until Luna falls asleep first," Ilyas muttered.
Ilyas picked Luna up and carried her away from the scene. As he looked around, he saw Agus, Raden, and Raka kneeling in front of Khai, their faces bruised all over as they begged for mercy.
"Please forgive us, we promise we won't do anything bad again."
Khai saw Ilyas coming out of the diner, carrying Luna in his arms. With a cheerful face, Khai walked over to him and snatched some bread from Ilyas.
"You know, if you were gonna leave Luna, at least wait until she's asleep."
"Ah, sorry," Khai replied, his mouth full of bread.
"You really did a number on them, huh?"
"Well, they threatened to kidnap Luna."
Hearing that, Ilyas stepped closer to the three of them. The moment they got a good look at him, they realized they had messed with the wrong person.
"If you've got the guts, go ahead and try," Ilyas said, gripping Agus's head tightly.
Agus felt an unbearable pain — like his head was being crushed in a hydraulic press.
"F... F... Forgive me!" Agus gasped, his eyes watering, unable to withstand the pain any longer.
Ilyas released his grip, allowing Agus to breathe freely once again.
However, because of Agus's scream, the nearby Demigons and Crawlers began to attack the six of them.
Ilyas quickly ordered the others to head back into the diner, while he grabbed a nearby broomstick to use as a weapon.
"Khai. Close Luna's eyes and ears," Ilyas said.
Ilyas stood tall with unwavering courage, gripping the broomstick that seemed ordinary at first glance. Despite facing hundreds of Demigons and Crawlers continuously pouring in, he was unshaken.
With each swing and every precise movement, Ilyas was able to kill them all, using nothing but the broomstick.
After a few minutes, all the Demigons and Crawlers were dead, slain by Ilyas alone.
Agus, Raden, and Raka, who had witnessed the scene, were both amazed and horrified, especially since they had originally intended to rob the two of them.
Ilyas told them to leave as the situation had calmed down. They stepped out, walking over the pile of Demigon and Crawler corpses.
"It's always you fighting all these Demigons. When are you going to let me fight too?"
"Wait until you finish all the training I've assigned to you first, then you can try fighting these Demigons."
Agus, Raden, and Raka, now aware that Ilyas was no ordinary human, approached him.
"You're Ilyas, right?" Agus asked.
"Yeah, why?"
"Is it possible for the three of us to join you?" Agus asked.
Hearing this, Khai felt that Ilyas wouldn't allow it. Ilyas then turned to Agus and asked,
"Where do you three plan on going?"
"The three of us want to go to the shelter in Sungkai." Raden replied.
"I figured as much. This is just like the last time. So there's no real change if I take Luna, eh?" Ilyas thought.
"How do you know there's a shelter in Sungkai?" Khai asked.
"I heard it on the radio. They said there's a shelter in Sungkai, so we're going to try heading there." Agus answered.
"Wait, isn't there no signal now? How could you hear it on the radio?"
"I don't know. Maybe they've fixed the signal or something, but for sure, the three of us want to find a safe place to stay."
"So, is it okay if the three of us join you guys?" Raden asked.
"Alright." Ilyas replied.
Hearing that, Agus, Raden, and Raka felt happy.
"But, you three need to prove yourselves useful during the journey. Got it?"
"Understood!"
Khai approached Ilyas to ask something.
"Ilyas, you're being awfully easy on them. What if they stab us in the back?"
"Relax. They won't dare do that. Also, I want to check out the shelter they mentioned earlier." Ilyas replied.
Ilyas, Khai, and Luna continued their journey toward Teluk Intan, along with Agus, Raden, and Raka.
