~Micheal's POV
I woke up to the soft sound of the hospital machines beeping around me, the scent of antiseptic still lingering in the air. The harsh white lights above me did nothing to soothe the unease in my chest. My body felt stiff, and my neck ached from the awkward position I had slept in, slumped over the edge of the chair beside Mia's bed. I hadn't meant to fall asleep like this, but the last few days had been a blur, a mix of emotions, exhaustion, and worry. Mia had been in a coma for what felt like forever, and I couldn't tear myself away from her side.
I stretched my legs out, trying to shake off the grogginess, and I leaned forward, staring at her face. Mia's pale skin and the dark circles under her eyes made my heart clench. She had been through so much, and yet, she looked so fragile, like she could break at any moment. I hated seeing her like this, hated knowing that I couldn't do anything to make her better, except be here and pray for her recovery.
