Everyone continued to train, and Xavier got tired of it, so he started doing some training of his own. He decided to do some stretches, then did some push ups and squats, training his newly developed muscles. He had always done this, even before he came to prison, to keep his muscles fit...and to survive.
"Hey Xavier, can I ask you something?" Rosie asked as Xavier did some pull ups with a tree branch.
"Sure." He answered, not stopping his workout
"Out of everyone here, as in the entire prison, you're the calmest one I've seen. Most of the prisoners seem....traumatized with their expression always gloomy. While others seen more sociopathic. But you, you act like this place is just like any other?" Rosie asked, her brows furrowed. This has been something that has been bothering her for a while since yesterday when they fought the wolves. Xavier didn't really seem afraid of the monsters like most other prisoners were, he seemed nonchalant about fighting them, he seemed more curious about this place despite the horrors that happen day after day. The only time he seemed to be even a tiny bit distressed was when he fight those humans. And that brings up the other issue of how well he fought, he was able to take on five people at once while exhausted. That was something she wasn't confident in doing, and she had military training. Attribute increase alone wasn't enough to explain all of that, he obviously had experience.
"Because to me it is. I've always been surrounded by monsters, the ones here are just a different kind." Xavier said with no emotion in his voice, and dropped back to the ground, and laid on the grass panting. Rosie looked down at him for a few moments and sighed.
Another hour past, and they prepared themselves to set out. The new recruits had increased their AGI attributes as Xavier advised them to and they stuck closely together like Mickey did. Xavier and Mickey stood at the front, while Maria and the original members of the Sisterhood were at the back.
They continued walking for over 20 more minutes, and they ran into three imps, flying in the air. Due to the size of their group, they were easily spotted and they quickly flew towards them.
"Maria, Mickey, stay out of this one. Time for us to see if your training has paid off." Xavier said, and stepped to the side. Mickey followed behind him, and Maria looked the others unsurely, before following after them.
"W-wait, what?" Tammy, one of the recruits, asked but it was too late. The imps were already closing in, and they quickly gathered into a basic formation. Rosie, Bella, and the other two prepared themselves as well, and when the three imps were close enough, they swung their claws. This was their moment to strike, and those who wielded a spear quickly stepped forward. They awkwardly thrusted their spear at the wings of imps, and due to their increase in ability, the imps weren't able to react in time. They then moved out of the way, and those with swords quickly lunged forward. There was five of them who wielded swords, and with some coordination, they slashed and hacked at the body of the imps. Killing them.
"That was a lot easier than I thought it would be." Ava said, looking down at the three dead imps.
"I'm glad you think that way, because you guys will be handling the fights from now on." Xavier said, but unlike before, they weren't afraid, but actually a bit excited. They had eight imp monster stones so far and three from the Aquatic Dweller. They were not sure if the Aquatic Dweller monster stones would be accepted since the guards didn't know about them yet, and Xavier wasn't too keen on telling them, since he would have to tell them about the river as well.
For next few hours, they continued to hunt the imps, killing group after group, and Xavier had to admit, hunting in a group was far faster than hunting alone. They were quickly able to gather 20 more monster stones, with each fight not taking more than ten minutes. Of course, they have received some injuries, but they were nothing more than minor scratches, and they advised the recruits to increase their vitality, which would allow the to heal their wounds. In order to find more monsters, they continued on their way, and they soon came up on a surprising structure in the middle of the forest.
"Is that a city?" Bart, another recruit, asked as he looked at the structure unsure. In front of them was a broken wall made of obsidian stones, and a rusty iron gate laid on the ground. Inside, there were tall structures made from the obsidian stones, broken and worn by the passage of time. Xavier took a step inside, and a notification popped up infront of him.
"You have entered the dungeon, Obsidian Ruins."
"Another one." Xavier said, when he read the notification.
