Chapter 18 - Justice v2

John stood shell shocked. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. The mightiest Set, comprising of some of the strongest men in Jead, had been reduced to something that could only be described as the work of a sadistic psychopath, with years and years of hatred against them. Indescribable flakes of flesh, scattered across this forest of death. Blood, drenching the soil, bones cracking like wood on fire.

A man stood above it all, watching his companions all die a death, he wouldn't wish for his worst nemesis.

He had gotten spared by the Demon himself.

He turned towards the Demon, bathed in the blood of all of the fallen men, his head swimming in the self induced euphoria of revenge. His arms, spread apart, as he laughed manically. His glowing red eyes, basking in all of the chaos he had caused.

~bzzzt~

John couldn't watch anymore. He disconnected with Lye and had to puke several times.

~cough~

He wiped his mouth and rested upon the trunk of one of the trees nearby. He thought back to the days he used to work with the vice leader back in school. He saw him getting beheaded by a 16 year old kid, who single handedly massacred almost 200 members of the Real Set.

" That would've been me if I joined the Real Set..." John realized.

"Damn it." He began sobbing.

>>

Kela could hear all of the commotion. She was trekking the flight of stairs, that led up to the 3rd floor.

It was in this corner, that merged with her father's room and the last pillar of the stairs, he'd usually beat her up.

She remembered the words, carved upon her horrible father's forearm, winced, and moved on.

"It's not his fault... " She whispered to herself.

Right now, Kela had nothing in her mind.

Ira's death, the gloomy atmosphere of the hell she called "home", her letting off Lye against his sworn enemies: Her family members, none of that intruded her thoughts.

It only enjoyed the privilege of fantasizing how she would be tearing her bitch of a mother apart.

Limb by limb.

Limb by limb.

"Limb by limb..."

An expression that eclipsed the darkest of men, dawned upon one that lost it all.

There she stood Infront of a door.

The culmination of every negative emotion crept into the peripheral of Kela.

The whispers grew stronger.

And stronger.

Until they became roars of rage.

The voice came out in a way that could never be described by humankind.

It was as if, words touched Kela's brain.

Hands that could freeze the Sun touched her mind.

Handfed her, words that could only end up haunting her for life.

Justice.

It is only an excuse to put oneself in the "right".

It is the strongest man's opinion on what is right.

This does not mean Justice is a faux.

It only means, I am right.

Because,

I am the strongest.

I will not let someone who trespass my Domain, and leave unscathed.

All shall die, their lifeless bodies decorating the path in which I have paved myself.

For I,

I am the End of All.

I am-

....

No...

"Kela Wilheim. You must not listen to these words."

"They will never help you."

A voice came out of nowhere. Kela fell onto her knees, disoriented.

"Don't give in to the chaos that is deep rooted within you. It will only let it take everything from you."

Kela's breath began to shake. She couldn't withstand the intensity of everything being dumped in her head.

" Get out of my head." Her voice was raspy. Her breath felt labored. Her entire body began to sweat profusely.

"I don't want you in here again."

The voice came back.

"It will try and take you. You'd have to fight your mother, and this entity, trying to take control of your mind."

"So be it."

"Don't underestimate me. Lost.

I know the risks."

Kela got back up. She kicked the door open. Her mother was sitting in a chair, placed in the middle of the room.

Kela knew she couldn't use her Domain. Venus would use that to her advantage.

"Welcome home, Kela."

She had not responded.

Venus stood up, her scaled armor shimmering in the light as she walked over to Kela.

She glared at Venus's eyes, not breaking eye contact.

"You're angry." Venus whispered. "Angry that I killed your sister. Angry that I stole your son from you."

No response.

Venus got so close to Kela, she could practically hear Kela's heart beat race.

But, it didn't.

It was calm.

Calm as still water.

Kela opened her mouth, and what came out of it took Venus aback.

" Your eyes will blind you, Venus. "

"Is that so?"

Kela unlocked the flood gates in her left arm. Her Domain flowed freely, from her shoulder to the tip of her nails.

Venus chuckled slowly.

"You have the Herrscher's blood within you. You are born with two affinities. Yet, you still fail to find fear while facing me. That will cost your life, my daughter."

Her eyes began to glow an eerie yellow. The blood red Domain inside her left arm had slowly begun to freeze.

{Singularity}

Her right arm travelled through the air as fast as it possibly could, nailing Venus on the temple. Her body turned limp, as she flung through the room, breaking the wall behind her.

The entire mansion had felt the shockwave of Singularity. The pillars began to crumble and disintegrate. The trees rustled back and forth, as Venus fell onto the ground on her back, knocking the wind out of her.

Once the walls and roof had opened up, Kela looked around. She could barely see the sea of blood, made up of enemies and family alike. She saw Lye's eyes glowing, watching her.

Venus slowly got back up, dusting the rubble off of her chest plate.

"Infusing your muscles and bones with Domain. Are you that desperate to kill your own mother?"

Kela stood in the dust of the collapsed mansion. As she balled up her fist, the dust cloud spiraled around her right arm.

She stuck out her middle finger.

Venus rushed her with her hand coated in a very thick layer of Domain. Kela dodged with ease. They maneuvered through the layers and layers of debris, while it was only Venus attacking. Kela dodged every single one of her slashes as if she was dancing. She began to slowly grin, a sight that infuriated Venus.

"You're toying with me."

She stretched her hands out. From the sky, shimmers of light stab into Kela's right arm.

She wanted to scream out so bad, but she couldn't afford to show any signs of weakness.

Thousands and thousands of invisible daggers of light bombarded the field.

.

.

.

The two sat in the white room, planning for the attack.

"My mother is a degree 6 Transcendent. I don't know what function she has exactly, but I can remember it's related to trigonometry."

"That's not much to go by, child."

"Ugh. I know. She's a cockroach. She could withstand almost any attack. On top of that, she has your eyes."

"That's an advantage for you."

Kela scooched her seat closer.

"Go on."

"You can use the element of surprise. The technique I taught you, those condensed fibers of Domain. You took that concept and used those to act as muscle fibers. You won't have to use your Domain to hit strong anymore. Use that to get in a good hit, and we shall ride the storm out."

Kela raised her eyebrow.

"Ride the storm out?

If only I could see what you see, it could give me an edge."

"Didn't you mention an old friend of yours with an interesting Function?"

.

.

.

"JOHN, NOW."

~bzzzt~

John linked up Lye's vision to Kela.

She could see paths that dulled in color. They all lead towards her. She pieced it all together in an instant.

The way the Domain flowed within her hands, the frequency at which she was making those paths.

It was Sine. Her function was Sin( x ). She was able to change the ratio of refractive indexes and invertedly be able to control light. She could turn a place completely opaque, or transparent. She could, as she did before, change the ratio in such a way that it causes light to be an infinitely sharp dagger.

Kela risked it and boosted her legs and arms all together. She dodged left and right, as the daggers of light caressed her skin. She wasn't fast enough. She had to predict where Venus was looking at. At the end of the day, a human was the one who could do such a thing.

Her eyes rapidly searched for any signs of Domain in the sky. She could see initial point for all of her paths. They resemble the graph of her function- A wave, circling around the entire area.

Using those as a reference, Kela skillfully dodged the light rays, leaving Venus with an open mouth.

"How is she doing this..." She said under her breath.

Kela stomped the ground, risking it by using her Domain. Rocks and dust had created a smokescreen, blinding Venus completely. Kela was loosing a lot of blood from her right arm. She gritted through the pain and moved on.

"You can't use it if you can't see me. Isn't that right?" Kela growled.

"The light rays you control, you don't control them. You guide them."

Kela maneuvered through the dust and kicked the ground as hard as she could. Venus lost her footing and tumbled down. She couldn't see anything.

Kela, however, was able to find Venus and as she was falling down, she dashed towards her, with her fist cocked back.

When Venus could see Kela , it was already too late.

She could see those glowing Red Eyes of hers.

Venus's expression turned into one of horror.

She could finally see. The relief of not being blind for a moment seemed to shadow what the reflection of her pupils depict.

A monster.

A monster that can shake the world.

"..

...

The Eyes of E-"

{Singularity}

Kela's fist ran through Venus's left shoulder, severely breaking it and her neck. Venus, for a moment, became a projectile, moving as fast as a bullet, pummeling through the trees. She rammed onto a boulder which broke, the pieces falling onto her.

Kela ran towards her in anger. She could see pieces of blood splattered across the barks of many trees. She stopped at that huge boulder.

Venus was knocked out. She was covered in blood. Her elbow bones, sticking out. Her entire right face was stripped of skin.

Kela flipped her over and punched her in the face as hard as she could.

Venus screamed in pain.

"Your own function. You couldn't even control your own Function.

You have control over nothing.

Nothing.

You took advantage of my Father's situation, and controlled him.

But, no.

You...

You have fucking nothing."

Tears ran down Venus's disformed face.

"Nuew.... Don't....

Stop...Please..."

"Did you stop? Before killing my father's fiancé. You didn't stop."

"When my husband begged you to spare Ira. When you looked at your own fucking daughter in the eye, begging you to spare her. You didn't stop."

Kela smiled.

"Why should I?"

"You have all of that power. Yet, you cannot do anything about it.

You have everything in the world, but nothing at the same time.

People like you shoulddie."

{Singularity}

Venus's skull cracked open. The crunch was heard throughout the forest. Her hands, trying to guard her face, went limp by her side.

Venus.

The Savant.

Princess of Jead.

Reduced to a mush of meat, oozing dirty blood. Her body fused with the forest soil beneath her. Steam began to form due to the sheer force of Kela's punches. Her hands however? They looked dust free.

The only thing that was left of Venus Wilheim, was her arm.

Kela grabbed a sharp rock and began engraving the letters:

"Ihave nothing."

She threw the arm on top of the unidentifiable remains of her mother as a flag.

Kela lied down on the ground.

"Father. All those times you've beaten me. Because you hated her. Because I look like her."

Lye appeared right behind one of the trees, hiding.

"Now that I killed her....

Will you please treat me like your daughter now...?"

"Oh, that's right. You went missing years ago...

Will you at least look down from heaven and bless my wedding?

Please, Father..."

Kela broke down. She cried like a baby, with no one to help her.

Her sister, her mother, her father, all of them are dead.

She couldn't stop the tears from streaming down her bloody face.

She was a killer now.

She enjoyed the thrill of thwarting every single ace in Venus's artillery and enjoyed it even more after punching her defenseless.

She licked the blood off of her fingers, slowly coming to the understanding that she was just like her mother.

It wouldn't end here. She still had to face off the rest of the Real Set. The one Lye faced off was only a small percentage of the true forces.

She got up and wiped her tears. She dusted off the loose pieces of flesh of her red sundress.

Kela tried to stand up, but she for some reason, wasn't able to. There was a feeling of impending doom, a feeling that Kela had never felt before. The wind began to pick up, as the clouds magically grew darker. Kela panted faster and faster. She could feel the oxygen struggling to enter her lungs.

A voice so deep, it didn't feel as if it came from a human erupted from behind.

"Don't look back. You will die."

Kela felt like she was suffocating. She was still weak because of the delivery, she managed to kill the Savant.

But this...

This person standing behind her right now, is someone unfathomable. She could feel it. The ridiculous Domain that is leaking out of this man, and the laughable fact that he wasn't even trying. She could feel that this man had powers rivaling God himself.

Kela faced the ground, fearing for her life, whoever this person is.

"Who are you...?" She cautiously asked.

~thump~

His footsteps reverberated throughout Kela's battered body. For some reason, however, they seemed to be leading towards what remains to be her mother.

"Rest well, my daughter. You did well."

Kela couldn't believe it.

Her heart began to race faster and faster.

The man standing behind her, was the Herrscher.

The strongest Defined to ever exist.

The man who led Jead to victory in many Global Wars.

"Did you do this, young woman?" She could feel that he was hiding his anger.

"Yes. I have. Grandfather."

Kela was frozen in fear. She was so scared, she had forgotten to breath for an entire minute.

" Was she a tough fight?"

"No."

"You must be Kela. Am I right?" The man was still staring at the remains of Venus.

" Will you stop eavesdropping?" The man said, facing a tree.

Lye had stepped out, with none of his usual bravado. He had put on the mannerism that showed only undying respect towards this man.

"Nicht Wilheim. It is an honor to meet you." Lye bowed, hiding his dark expression.

"Stop the fakeness, Lye. It doesn't suit you. I know as much as you know, how bad you want to kill me."

Kela did not say a word. She tried to stay as still as possible. This man has the power to change the geography of the world.

"Was I not good at hiding it?" Lye said with unmistakable sarcasm.

"You were." Nicht stared into Lye's eyes with an intensity which even caught Lye off guard. His eyes suddenly darkened. They were so black, not even light could pass through.

"It's just that I can see it. You somehow managed to use my granddaughter against me, and destroy one of my cherished daughters. You killed several of my blood. Tell me why I shouldn't rip you to shreds." His voice was deep, it felt ethereal. As if they were speaking with a deity.

"The Nullification."

"What...?" Nicht snapped.

"I have a feeling there will be a crack soon. Doesn't matter if it is in 20 years, or if it's tomorrow. You, of all people, should know we have bigger priorities, rather than playing King."

"What do you know, Lye? Everyone of the ~#####~ trusted me!" He spat.

"They were scared of you. You sick fuck."

Nicht walked menacingly towards Lye. He stuck out his finger.

"Don't use that tone against me."

Lye looked at him dead in the eye.

"Stop it. Please. Kela is here. She's been through too much in the past few days. You didn't even stop to think about Ira."

Nicht's face twitched.

"What about her?" He asked, trying to get the facade back on.

Kela turned towards Nicht.

"She's dead. Venus killed her."

"I-"

Nicht, the 6'5 giant, with a build rivaling Hercules, began to shiver.

"Did she know...?" He asked Lye, who nodded.

Nicht pulled Kela in for a hug.

"I'm so sorry, granddaughter. I disregarded Venus's ambitions and allowed all of this to happen..."

Lye stood there, shocked, and even more, furious.

"Nicth. Wipe that off your face. I can see through your fake smile."

Nicht said nothing, and continued patting the back of her broken granddaughter, who could do nothing but wail in his arms.

>>

The uncle, Gerald, he had evacuated with Atlas just in time. Lye took him, and the unconcious Kela back to their house. He told Nicth that he could talk to him later.

The solo surviver of the massacre, stood by Lye, still traumatized.

"You're still here?" Lye asked.

"I have nowhere to go. The Real Set was my family."

"You know how corrupt our world is right? No one who's in the positions they get, gained it by being fair."

The man looked back at his fallen comrades.

"I can't see it as you do. I'm sorry. I've grown up, looking upto joining the Real Set, to save lives and defend our Jead. The way they behaved today, it seemed that we were completely in the wrong.

I'm very conflicted, Demon.

I don't know whether to view you as my enemy, or thank you for sparing my life."

"What is your name, child?"

"Crey. Maxi Crey."

>>>

Pit put the picture back in its place, as he wiped his tears off of his face.

It was a lamenated polaroid.

A lonely polaroid that sat in an empty shelf.

It shimmered in the moonlit rays.

Someone just as beautiful and sweet as the moon.

It was a photo of Kela, Pit and Ira.
