Dawn didn't creep in softly. It cracked across the skyline, bleeding gold through the heavy curtains of Adrian's penthouse. Kai stirred beneath the sheets, a soft exhale brushing Adrian's bare chest as he blinked awake.
"Still here," Kai mumbled, voice hoarse from sleep…and other things.
Adrian chuckled, low and satisfied. "Where else would you be?"
Kai stretched with a groan, the movement exposing mottled bruises and bite marks scattered like stardust down his torso. Adrian's eyes dragged over every one, hunger simmering under his skin.
"I should feel sore," Kai whispered, nuzzling under Adrian's chin.
"You should feel worshipped," Adrian murmured back, drawing his nails down Kai's spine. "I learned every inch of you last night. I won't forget it."
"You didn't just learn me," Kai teased. "You ruined me."
Adrian flipped him onto his back in one smooth movement, hands pinning Kai's wrists above his head. "Not ruined," he growled, voice dipping dark and velvet-slick. "Remade."
Kai's breath stuttered.
Adrian leaned in, mouth grazing Kai's throat. "Tell me what you want this morning. Sweet? Rough? On your knees? Wrapped in my arms while I whisper how beautiful you sound when you beg?"
Kai's thighs clenched.
"Fuck, Adrian"
"Thought so."
And then it was all lips and teeth and tangled limbs again less frantic than before, but no less desperate. They made love like they were stitching pieces of themselves together. Like every thrust, every kiss, was a promise: I'm still here. I'm still yours.
After, Kai collapsed against Adrian's chest, boneless and buzzing. "I don't want to go back to reality."
Adrian kissed his hair. "Then don't. Stay here with me. Let them think we vanished."
Kai laughed quietly. "The world's going to come for us eventually."
Adrian's arms tightened. "Let it. I have you. That's all I need."
