And his sister she been speaking lesser and last night had taken a deep toll on her mental health,it had taken pieces out of her
They now lived in a small underground lair in the central city Axiore
He had made.a few friend or surbodinates he was stronger than those around his age and even those elder than him
His group was more of a crime sydinacte composed of young kids the other kid name reaper and shaun were older than him but not stronger that was also the reason they respected him they were no older than sixteen or seventeen
They had pulled off multiple robberies, usually targeting important figures. Each time, they barely escaped with their lives. Their faces were unknown to the public thanks to the masks they wore during every mission.
Now, the three of them roamed the streets. Wanted posters littered the city walls, their descriptions vague and unhelpful
"its been getting quite boring lately," Shaun said, gazing up at the sky. "The nobles have all expanded their security
Though the area was crowded a person fords piqued cassian's intrest
"Have you heard about the exhibit in the palace" a random man said "it was a royal decree announced yesterday"
"Found out next goal" Cassian muttered just enough so that reaper and shaun could hear
"Wait you don't plan on stea--" shaun's words were cut off as he was dragged by Cassian to their meeting place

"You can't steal the dragon egg" shaun answered " we are only three people and they have an army it's not a nobles house it's a damn castle "
"That's exactly why we must be careful " Cassian replied
Reaper simply listened in silence He couldn't speak he was mute but his presence said more than words ever could
Cassian laid the old palace map on the table. It was creased, frayed at the edges, but clear enough for what they needed.
He pointed to the centre "this is where the dragon egg will be kept a hundred guards protecting it half of them go out,"Cassian paused for a moment" then because most guards will be protecting the egg there will be lesser protection on other items in the exhibit " Cassian stopped again making sure everyone got the plan
"So reaper will steal the other item and cause commotion will attract possibly a few more guards along with the ones on break
Just then reaper started signing something quickly
"Slow down we don't know sign language "
Shaun said not being able to understand what was being said
"No we need someone fast for attracting attention" Cassian said in response to reapers signing
With a nod reaper sunk back in his chair arms crossed
"How are you even able to understand that"
Shaun said confused
" I don't know " Cassian said in response to shaun
"me and shaun will go in pretending to look at the exhibit shaun will distract the guards and I will steal the egg" cassian said trying to catch his breath
He paused and then continued with a deep breath
"And since the egg is placed on a special platform .which if we take the egg from it will sound the alarm so we will also need to figure something for that"
Reaper started signing something...again
"He is trying to say we make a replica of the egg, but we can't because we don't know the weight of the egg" Cassian deciphered reapers sign to the best of his abilities
"And how do we ..escape from the castle?" shaun asked
"The exibition is in a week we will probably figure something out till then....maybe" cassian said his voice carrying a bit of sarcasm
"What about your sister " shaun asked trying to change the topic.
Cassian didn't answer immediately. He looked toward the far end of the lair, where a small curtain hung over a narrow hallway. Beyond it was her room. It was just a small area used as a break room for workers to rest in, when this place was originally used as a mine.

A few days had passed ever since the meeting
Cassian sat on the floor of the cramped room with his sister, both leaning over the creased palace map. The shadows flickered softly from the single candle, casting long shapes on the walls.
"i still cant figure out how to bypass the damned weight sensory mechanism " Cassian muttered, running a hand through his messy hair. "the moment the egg is lifted off the alarm will go off"
"What about the spatial ring,the one that you proudly showed off after you stole it from that noble " cassian's sister asked her voice soft
That night still haunted her though it has been a year, the memory was blurry for her.
Cassian looked up, the weight of the problem pressing on him."The ring is perfect for hiding the egg once we manage to get it out, but it won't stop the pedastal from detecting the change in weight . It will probably sound an alarm.
His sister nodded slowly eyes reflecting worry" at least you don't have to worry about storing the egg after stealing it..."she paused for a moment before continuing "and don't drag me down with you after you get caught"
Cassian gave a faint smile at her joke, but his eyes remained locked on the map. He traced the outline of the palace walls again for the hundredth time, as if doing so might magically reveal a solution.
"Why must you do this..Cassian" iris asked not looking at him directly
"I don't know maybe to prove a point maybe grow stronger I don't know." Cassian had to think alot before answering
"This will probably be the last time I steal something"cassian added
