"The match has officially begun! Scorpian Murphy has opted for a conservative strategy to start, seemingly wanting to observe his opponent. Wait a minute, what is Roy Black doing?"
Roy's relaxed and almost slouching posture shocked everyone. However, the old fans who had been watching Roy since his first match knew that the real show was about to begin.
Scorpian felt a surge of anger, but he was still calmer than Roy's first opponent. Even with Roy adopting such an incredibly insulting stance, he still chose to test the waters with a jab.
Roy took a tiny step back, and Scorpian missed by just that much.
So, Scorpian followed up with more jabs. He had good physical attributes, tall with a long reach, which gave him a significant attack range and made him well-suited for technical boxing.
However, Roy moved around the ring as if he were taking a leisurely stroll, always managing to stay just out of Scorpian's reach, no matter how he threw his punches.
As they continued, Scorpian finally realized that Roy was just toying with him. This had nothing to do with boxing technique; it was a pure and utter crushing of physical ability.
This kind of situation is the most demoralizing.
"Oh my goodness! Roy Black is absolutely toying with Scorpian Murphy! I imagine this kid must be feeling incredibly hopeless right now, but unfortunately, this is the harsh reality of competitive sports! Scorpian Murphy has stopped attacking. It looks like he wants to give up! Alright, the first round is over. Maybe a short break will allow him to regroup."
Roy walked over to the edge of the ring and sat down, not even slightly out of breath, barely having broken a sweat.
Coach Lambert handed Roy a bottle of water.
"Roy, you're too cruel! I have a feeling that kid across the ring won't ever box again after this match!"
Roy glanced at Scorpian, whose eyes were filled with confusion and fear. Even the constant encouragement from his coach seemed to have no effect.
"I don't think I was cruel enough!"
"That's right, finish him off in the next round. Make it a clean one!"
"No problem!"
The break ended quickly, and Roy and Scorpian returned to the center of the ring.
After a few minutes of encouragement, Scorpian had finally regained some of his courage and hadn't chosen to forfeit immediately.
However, when he saw Roy's smiling face, the little courage Scorpian had managed to muster seemed to be draining away again.
"Ah, I smell fear. Can you smell it?"
After the referee announced the start of the second round, Roy slid forward towards Scorpian.
Scorpian immediately realized that Roy was planning an aggressive attack. He wanted to use jabs to control the distance and give himself some breathing room.
However, Roy's lightning-fast V-shaped sway made Scorpian's jab a complete opening.
Immediately following that, Roy threw a left hook, carrying an unstoppable force through the gap Scorpian had exposed, hitting him squarely on the side of the face.
Bang!
Scorpian's head snapped to the side, and he fell directly to the ground, his neck twisted at a very unnatural angle.
Oof, did he just kill him?
The referee quickly knelt down to check on Scorpian. He didn't even bother with the countdown and immediately called for the paramedics who were waiting ringside.
After examining him, the doctor announced that Scorpian had a broken neck and a concussion and couldn't continue the match.
So, the referee directly declared Roy the winner by knockout.
A deafening roar of cheers immediately erupted from the crowd, almost lifting the roof off the stadium.
The audience came to watch boxing to see violent knockouts, and Roy's punch perfectly met their expectations.
"That was terrifying! The ringside doctor says Scorpian Murphy has a broken neck and a severe concussion. He was just one step away from death! Or perhaps, Roy Black *is* that Grim Reaper!"
The ringside commentator, Tony, concluded the boxing match with those words.
"Grim Reaper! Grim Reaper! Grim Reaper!"
Many audience members began chanting "Grim Reaper" in unison, seemingly wanting to make it Roy's nickname.
That nickname doesn't sound too bad!
Lambert came over and put a towel over Roy's head.
"Roy, don't feel bad. This kind of thing happens all the time in boxing. Once you become a professional boxer, you'll get used to it."
Lambert seemed to think Roy was traumatized by seriously injuring his opponent, but in reality, Roy had killed more people than he had fingers on both hands. He wasn't afraid of knocking someone out.
"I don't feel bad. I was just wondering if I should go a little easier on people in the future?"
Lambert patted Roy on the shoulder.
"Haha, you're right! With your current punching power, you'd be a heavy hitter even in the heavyweight division. You definitely should hold back a bit in the middleweight division. How about this? After the Cowboy Cup, you can slowly start gaining weight and move on to heavier boxing matches later."
Roy nodded, thinking Lambert's idea was good. He didn't want to have to ask his opponents not to die in every match.
The Cowboy Cup semifinals had ended, but the buzz around the matches was still growing, especially after the second semifinal where Roy only threw one punch, but that punch nearly killed his opponent, who was even wearing protective gear.
This shocking news exploded in Austin, the closest major city to Waterfall Town, and then spread throughout the entire state of Texas.
Luckily, a television station had recorded the semifinals, and the broadcast of this match had particularly high viewership. This gave the handsome and incredibly skilled Roy a huge boost in popularity.
Now, Roy could truly be called a sports star.
Because of this, Roy received a lot of attention from universities, and his goal of using boxing to get noticed was considered achieved.
However, the end of the Cowboy Cup semifinals also meant that the holiday was coming to an end.
Before school started, Roy still had one important thing to do.
After thoroughly washing his hands on Penny and Heather's "kitties," Roy told the system to open Kevin's fate treasure chest.
**[Opening Kevin's fate treasure chest…]**
**[Received 1 point of Constitution!]**
**[Received 1 point of Spirit!]**
Kevin's fate treasure chest only yielded two attribute points. The rewards from opponents with average strength were getting worse and worse.
However, it could also be that Roy wasn't having a lucky day. So, he grabbed Penny and Heather's luxurious headlights a couple more times for good luck.
"Roy, why don't you go bother Penny?"
"Heather, I'm tired too!"
"It's okay, you guys keep sleeping."
After rubbing them, Roy continued to open Penny's conquest treasure chest.
**[Opening Penelope Brown's conquest treasure chest…]**
**[Received 1 point of Agility!]**
**[Received special ability: God Thief!]**
Woohoo, he got something good!
**[God Thief: You have acquired all the skills of a master thief. Now, any locked object is no longer a problem for you, and you can easily steal things from others.]**
The reason this ability was unlocked was probably because Penny herself was an excellent thief. Roy hadn't noticed at all when she stole his credit card at the strip club earlier.
At this point, Roy's stats were as follows:
