Chains of Abyss, Sylvia's legendary black chains, wrapped violently around the almost-open Gate of Lurien. Dark energy surged rapidly from the chains, trying to close the shrinking gap. The clashing of metal and the resonance of dark magic rang out in the chilling silence that hung heavy for a moment.
Sylvia stood firm, both hands outstretched, controlling the chains with all her might. Cold sweat ran down her temples as she felt the sheer force from the underworld pulling through, trying to break free.
"Close, damn it… close!" she growled through gritted teeth.

The gate kept shrinking, down to a mere slit. Just a little more and it would close. Sylvia summoned her final reserves of strength
