Rein POV:
"You are too slow," Syria said sassily, like walking was the easiest thing in the world.
I rolled my eyes, dragging my feet through the hallway . "Why don't we exchange feet… ah, sorry, you don't have any," I giggled, unable to help myself.
"Shut up," she snapped, glaring at me like she wanted to slap the smile off my face.
"Sorry," I shrugged with fake innocence, "but you started it first."
She huffed, clearly done with me. "Whatever. Take your book out from your bag."
I sighed and slid my backpack off my shoulder, rummaging through it until my fingers brushed the old, leather-bound book. The moment I touched it, a familiar warmth pulsed through my hand—like it recognized me.
I pulled it out and held it in front of me. "Direction," I whispered softly.
