Zhao Yiming was a bit startled when he saw the alert notification. But he understood why Luo Yanyu was disappointed in him.
Before she could turn away to make the call, he stepped forward and bowed slightly, his voice low and sincere.
"I'm sorry for dragging you into this... You're the only one I can count on right now."
He lifted his head slowly, offering a faint smile. "So, don't take it the wrong way, Yanyu. I'll make it up to you with a date if you don't mind. Or would you prefer a gift?"
Her eyes widened. She held her phone against her chest. "Well… I want a day with you," she muttered, barely audible.
Zhao Yiming tilted his head. "Hm? What did you say?"
"Ugh! I said I want to spend a day with you only!" she shouted, stomping her foot as her cheeks flushed crimson. "Not like a date or because I like you or anything!"
He laughed, warm and relaxed. "Of course. We'll spend the whole day together. You can pick where we go—somewhere fun. Maybe even a nice vacation."
