Boom! Boom! Boom!
The battle on the field continued fiercely.
With Aven's arrival, Rhyhorn, Mightyena, and Tangela displayed tremendous strength in combat.
While it wasn't enough to completely change the tide of battle, it did relieve some of the pressure on the knights, giving them a much-needed chance to catch their breath.
"The Eleventh Division of Aspiration City has arrived to support!"
"Have your Rhyhorns fall back and rest—we'll take your positions!"
At that moment, Hunter arrived on the battlefield with his knight squad, calling out to the comrades at the front line.
At the same time, nearly two hundred Rhyhorns stormed out from the defensive lines, forming a row at the front and charging forward!
Seeing this, the commanding officer didn't hesitate. He immediately ordered the magical beasts at the front to retreat.
Those beasts had been fighting for a long time and truly needed to be rotated out to rest, or else they might lose several comrades in this brutal fight.
Woooooooo—
The retreat horn sounded across the field.
The Rhyhorns at the front began to withdraw, allowing the newly arrived Rhyhorns to take their place.
"Now's the time! Rhyhorn, use Rock Slide!"
Leon stepped in for the commander and issued a command to the Rhyhorns on the field.
The supporting Rhyhorns immediately split into two teams. One group charged head-on to block the incoming magical beasts, while the other remained in place. Rock-type energy rapidly gathered around them, materializing into massive boulders that crashed toward the enemy in the distance!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Dozens of Abyssal Beasts were taken down in a single strike, leaving the knights on the front lines stunned.
"Did... did all those Rhyhorns just use Rock Slide?" one knight gasped, wondering if he was seeing things.
It really was an entire squad of Rhyhorns simultaneously using Rock Slide—the scene was simply overwhelming!
"It's Aven, of course…" Kevin exhaled deeply, his eyes filled with awe as he watched the Rhyhorns.
The method to learn Rock Slide, combined with auxiliary potions, had really managed to cultivate so many Rhyhorns with the move in such a short time!
One of the long-standing weaknesses of the knight squads had been a lack of ranged attacks, forcing them to rely on archers for long-range support.
Now, with the Rhyhorns having mastered Rock Slide, their offensive capabilities had dramatically improved, greatly enhancing their combat effectiveness.
Just like in the battle on the field now, the coordinated efforts of the two Rhyhorn teams were gradually suppressing the largest beast wave they had faced so far.
As he watched the knight squad enter the battle, Aven finally relaxed and turned his attention elsewhere.
In the distance, a severely wounded Mightyena had been retrieved from the battlefield, and a apothecary was trying to feed it healing medicine.
But the injuries were far too severe. Healing potions alone weren't enough to stop the blood that kept pouring from the Mightyena.
'This isn't something medicine alone can handle…' Aven sighed and picked up a medical kit before walking over.
"I'm Apothecary Aven. Leave this to me." He spoke directly upon arrival.
The apothecary didn't immediately step aside. Instead, he frowned and studied Aven, clearly not recognizing this unfamiliar apothecary.
"Hand the Mightyena over to Master Aven," Kevin called from nearby.
Hearing the Chief Knight's words, the apothecary froze for a moment, then seemed to realize something. His eyes widened—an Apothecary Master?
Aven ignored him and immediately went to check the Mightyena.
Thanks to the large quantity of healing medicine it had consumed, the Mightyena's condition was still stable for the moment. But the excessive blood loss was still a serious concern.
Aven quickly pulled out bandages from his medical kit and wrapped them around the Mightyena's wounds to slow the bleeding.
He then gently ran his hands over the creature's body and frowned slightly. From the distortion in its leg, it was clear the bone had been fractured.
That had to be set right away—
Otherwise, even if the Mightyena recovered, it might end up crippled.
Relying on practiced technique, Aven felt along the limb and began the process of setting the bone.
The Mightyena was unconscious, though its face still bore a pained expression.
But as the bones were properly aligned, its expression relaxed, and the frown on its brow slowly eased.
Aven then signaled to his Petilil, who nodded and emitted a green glow from the leaves on its head. The light enveloped the Mightyena's wounds.
As the healing light slowly merged into its body, the Mightyena's breathing visibly steadied.
Seeing this, Aven finally let out a breath of relief. Petilil's life energy was truly extraordinary—its healing power was exceptional.
"Is it... really okay now?"
The apothecary stood in a daze, completely unable to understand Aven's unfamiliar methods.
He glanced down at the Mightyena's injured leg, which had already returned to its normal shape.
"Yes, it's out of danger," Aven said with a reassuring smile as he handed a healing potion to Petilil to drink.
While channeling healing energy, Petilil also consumed stamina and life force, so it needed to be replenished regularly.
"Really? It's really, okay?" the scout knight asked in a trembling voice. "Mightyena's leg…"
"When it wakes up, it'll still need some bed rest, but after some recovery, it'll be able to walk again."
Hearing Aven's words, the scout knight suddenly slumped to the ground, as though all the strength had drained from his body. He murmured softly, "That's great… That's really great…"
Aven gently patted his shoulder, then led Petilil toward another injured magical beast.
Kevin glanced down at the Mightyena, then looked up at Aven. He clenched his fists in excitement—Her Highness was right to trust this man!
Over the next period, Aven checked on all the injured magical beasts in the area, managing to save even a critically wounded Rhyhorn.
The battle on the field had also come to an end.
The newly arrived knight squad had shown overwhelming strength.
The synchronized Rock Slide attack had left a deep impression on every knight present.
After the battle, some of the knights immediately began asking about the Rock Slide move.
It wasn't hard to guess that these knights had all learned the technique recently, and the others were thrilled by the prospect.
But in the face of these inquiries, the knights of the supporting squad remained tight-lipped.
The method to learn Rock Slide was a closely guarded secret. Without orders from their commander, none of them would dare reveal it.
Still, it gave them a sense of pride—they had now taken the lead among all the knight squads!
