Chapter 189: Arresting Daimons
Harry rode his hoverboard into the air, his father's laughter echoing from his mouth, giving the native Peter family PTSD flashbacks.
"Phew!"
Daimons emerged from the smoke, his clothes tattered, with burn injuries visible on his exposed skin, looking quite disheveled.
"You bastards!" Daimons cursed, his already ugly face made even worse by burns and a fierce expression, reaching the point where it would stop children from crying.
"I will drain your souls!"
Daimons roared and charged at George again. Compared to Harry flying in the air, George standing on the ground was clearly easier to deal with.
Moreover, he was starving, and if he didn't eat soon, his strength would drop to its lowest. Then, fighting would be out of the question, though he didn't particularly care about escaping anyway.
Facing Daimons's animalistic rage, George simply tilted his body, revealing his back where a dark gun barrel appeared.
"Bang!"
A gunshot rang out, and a huge hole appeared in Daimons's chest. The impact nearly knocked him off balance.
Before Daimons could understand what happened, a jade-green figure grabbed his head with its claws and pinned him to the ground.
Through the clawed grip, Daimons recognized the figure—a giant lizard monster, a terrifying beast with sharp fangs and teeth, looking more monstrous than Daimons himself.
"Uh uh uh!"
Daimons used his hands to grab the giant claw of the Lizard, trying to break free. To be fair, Daimons was capable of wrestling with Spider-Man, and the Lizard couldn't single-handedly restrain him.
"I need some help, Harry!" Lizard-Peter shouted for assistance.
Daimons was busy trying to break free and paid no heed to Peter's call. The next moment, countless thick vines burst from the soil beneath him, wrapping around him tightly.
In an instant, Daimons was left with only his face exposed. No matter how hard he struggled, he couldn't break free from these resilient vines.
"Arriving in time is what a hero should do."
Yang Le and Frank stepped out of the portal, though Yang Le was no longer in human form but fully bloomed Swampfire.
Unlike the juvenile stage, the bloomed Swampfire not only had more attack methods but also stronger control over plants, even able to control some low-intelligence ones.
For instance, these vines—if Swampfire hadn't bloomed, it would have been impossible to restrain Daimons.
As for why Swampfire suddenly bloomed, Yang Le didn't know, but it didn't stop him from using it.
(In reality, the author previously got it wrong, thinking it bloomed at 20 years old, but reviewing the original show revealed it was at 16. No worries, let's just assume it varies across parallel universes. Hehe.)
"If you had arrived a little later, I might not have been able to hold him," Peter complained.
"Would you say timely or not?" Yang Le retorted.
"Definitely timely," Harry landed from the air between the two.
"Excuse me..."
While Yang Le and Peter were bantering, a voice came from behind them. Everyone turned around to see injured Peter's family.
Mary Jane supported Peter, while Mayday cradled Benjamin, though she was injured, she could still endure.
"Excuse me, who are you?" Middle-aged Peter, supported by Mary Jane, approached the group and asked.
Although there were quite a few enemies similar to those he once faced in this team, there was also Spider-Man, and they were all wearing the same uniform, clearly part of the same team.
And they had saved his family, so they shouldn't be bad people.
"Just like you, I'm just a father," George stepped forward and supported Peter.
"And I think you should recognize me."
George removed his mask, revealing his true identity.
"Who are you? Uncle George!?" Peter exclaimed, with Mary Jane shocked into covering her mouth, while young Mayday and Benjamin were clueless.
"You look so young," Mary Jane said.
"After all, we come from other universes," Frank walked over with a gun.
"Punisher! Parallel universes? I see," Peter first was surprised by Frank, then reacted after hearing his words.
"There's more that will shock you," Yang Le attracted Peter's family's attention, pointing to the two beside him.
"This Green Goblin is Harry Osborn, and this Lizard is Peter Parker."
This truly shocked Peter's family, leaving them speechless as they stared at the two.
Harry straightforwardly removed his mask and said, "I didn't expect you to look so handsome when you grew older, Peter."
After proving he returned to normal, Peter transformed back, as he wasn't certain there weren't other enemies.
Peter argued, "Come on, it's middle age, not old."
However, Peter agreed with Harry's words, and seeing Mary Jane and his children standing beside his middle-aged self, he felt even happier, confident that he would end up with Mary Jane.
"This is..." Middle-aged Peter opened his mouth, but ultimately said nothing.
"Let's not talk about that now," Yang Le walked over to Peter's family.
"Let's treat your injuries first. Look at you, you should all be in ICU."
Peter's family gladly accepted, except for well-protected Benjamin.
The rest, even the lightly injured Mary Jane, had bruises and scrapes on their exposed skin.
Not to mention Peter and Mayday, who had several fractures from participating in the fight.
If they weren't superhumans, they would have died long ago.
Just as Yang Le intended to invite them into the portal to receive treatment at the base, another portal opened nearby.
As Yang Le expected, several Spider-Men in similar uniforms walked out.
"What?" Spider-UK was also surprised by the scene before him.
Daimons, thoroughly bound, and Spider-Man with his enemies in the same uniform, were supporting Peter's family into a portal, with what appeared to be a vegetative state?
"Hey, hello Spider-Men!" Yang Le greeted warmly.
"I've met quite a few before, and now I see even more. Do you know Spider-Man Noir? He's my good friend, and we also know Peni Parker."
"Looks like they're not enemies," Spider-Man 2099 said beside Spider-UK.
"Maybe," Spider-UK didn't commit too much, as he had never seen that Spider-Man before.
