"Hello Spider-Man."
Yang Le walked to Peter Parker of the Main Universe and greeted him.
"You are?" Main Universe Peter frowned.
"To save time, I'll make it brief," Yang Le said. "We are from another Universe, and now there is a Crisis targeting Spider-Man across the Multiverse. We need your help."
"Wait, Multiverse Crisis!" Before Main Universe Peter could say anything, Kamala on the side couldn't contain herself and exclaimed excitedly. "I know I shouldn't look happy, but this is the first time I've encountered an event of this scale."
"But this has nothing to do with you," Yang Le said, pouring cold water on Kamala's excitement. "Go home, kid. This fight isn't for you to get involved in."
"But..." Kamala wanted to argue, but Peter on the side interrupted her. "He's right, kid," Peter said. "This is all too much for you right now."
"But I just helped you solve a Crisis," Kamala argued, spreading her hands. Although Kamala's help was minimal, without her, Peter wouldn't have been able to catch up with the Truck so easily, so Peter really couldn't refute her.
But that was just Peter being kind. If it were any other Hero, they would probably have completely ignored Kamala's Merit. Just as Peter was wondering how to respond, the giant Egg suddenly moved.
It began to shake, contracting and expanding, looking like an Alien Xenomorph was about to hatch. Everyone was on high alert, after all, no one knew what was inside. What if a Monster really hatched?
With a "pu-chi" sound, the green Eggshell burst open, turning into Liquid that splattered everywhere. Immediately following was a loud cry. When everyone looked, they realized it wasn't a Monster at all. It was clearly a newborn Baby, lying in thick green Mucus and wailing.
"Oh my god!" Gwen widened her Eyes and quickly walked to the Baby's side. Ignoring the disgusting Mucus, she gently picked up the Baby. "Good Baby, good Baby," Gwen cooed, gently scraping the Mucus from the Baby's body and coaxing it softly, but the Baby still cried non-stop.
"Let me try," George approached Gwen. "After all, I'm the only one here who has raised a Child."
"I know you're amazing, super dad," Gwen joked, handing the Baby to George. George took the Baby and waved to Kamala at the same time.
"Come here, kid."
"Me?" Kamala pointed at herself. Seeing George nod, she stretched her Legs and took a step to George's side.
"What? Do you want me to make Funny Faces to make him laugh?" Kamala used her Ability to make a very silly Funny Face. "Not to brag, but my Funny Face technique is unmatched."
"Indeed, not bad, kid," George praised with a smile. "But what I need is something else trivial."
George pointed to Kamala's Scarf, his meaning obvious. Kamala looked at the naked Baby and immediately understood George's intention. With a pout, she took off her Scarf and handed it over. Don't misunderstand, Kamala wasn't upset about her Scarf; she was just disappointed that her Funny Face had no chance to shine.
George comforted Kamala with a few words, gently wrapped the Scarf around the Baby, and soothed it for a while. The Baby indeed stopped crying and fell into a deep sleep.
"He looks so cute," Kamala said with a smile. "We should send him back to his parents."
"Before that, let me examine him first," Yang Le said, having walked over unnoticed. Yang Le used his Pincer Hand to control the Omnitrix on his chest, and a Light Screen shot out, scanning the Baby in George's Hand.
Sure enough, this Baby had also been modified, and to a significant degree. When he grew up, he would become another Superhuman. To avoid causing trouble for the family, Yang Le conveniently activated the DNA Repair Function, turning the Baby back into an ordinary Human.
"A future Superhero has disappeared," Gwen joked.
"Being an ordinary Child isn't bad either," George said, but his strange tone suggested he was talking about more than just the Baby in his arms.
Gwen understood, of course, but she just shrugged and didn't respond. Seeing this, George could only shake his head helplessly.
"Alright, he's perfectly healthy now," Yang Le said, restoring the Omnitrix after the repair. "Now we just need to find someone to send the Child back to his parents."
"Indeed," Kamala nodded, but then noticed everyone was looking at her. "Me?" Kamala pointed at herself.
"Of course, we're all from Other Universes and don't know this World. Naturally, it has to be you."
"But what about Spider..." Kamala turned her head, only to find that Spider-Man was long gone, along with Dr. Minerva, who had been wrapped up like a Zongzi.
"Spider-Man escorted the Bad Guy to Avengers Headquarters," Yang Le said with a smile. This was actually his plan. He had taken advantage of Kamala's distraction earlier to have Peter take Dr. Minerva and leave first, planning to meet up at the agreed Open Area after everything was over, saving him the trouble of arguing with Kamala.
"Looks like you're indeed the most suitable candidate."
"Okay," Kamala said, her Face crumpled, but she still took the Baby. "I'll go back to the Hospital where we started and look around."
"Good luck," Yang Le waved goodbye to Kamala, who just responded with a Funny Face.
Finally resolving the Trouble, Yang Le and the others left the City Area and headed to the agreed Open Area first, the same Open Area where they had landed when they first arrived. It was far from the City Area and not easily noticed, making it a good place to talk.
Yang Le, having returned to Human form, leaned against Gwen. With George still present, they didn't engage in any lovey-dovey Act, as that wasn't Gwen's Personality anyway. Besides, although Yang Le had been kicked, he still felt a little guilty facing Gwen. Luckily, Gwen hadn't walked away when he sat down, or he would have been miserable.
Gwen removed her Mask, and Yang Le finally saw her beautiful Face again. He was surprised to notice that Gwen had dyed her hair tips pink, a bright and lovely touch that gave her a playful vibe.
Gwen adjusted the Web viscosity, made a Hair Tie, and tied up her long hair. Noticing Yang Le staring at her, she couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," Yang Le touched his Nose.
"Hmph!" Gwen raised her chin and snorted haughtily.
"Don't worry, I said the past is past, and I know your intentions were good, but you need to remember, there won't be a next time. Next time, if anything happens, you must discuss it with me, understand?"
Yang Le looked into Gwen's Eyes, seeing both a threat and a hint of pleading. Facing Gwen like this, Yang Le could only nod.
