Chapter 4 - 4 Memories

Four years at Sea City University, due to accurate stock investments, more than one and a half million in her hand quickly turned into over thirty million.

She had her own home, though it was only two rooms, it was truly her own home.

With nothing to do since she didn't have to hustle for a living, she stayed home every day. However, the space was never forgotten to be filled.

Home and space were her greatest dependencies, especially the space, which made her feel secure.

When that man failed in his investments and lost everything, Su Yuanyuan handed him three million, which truly severed their father-daughter relationship.

Su Yuanyuan spent every day idly. She wasn't ambitious or inflated, and didn't attend any reunions. Every day was just shopping, filling her space.

She didn't have close girlfriends during school, nor good friends after graduation, always moving about alone. Naturally, she also had no boyfriend.

Even though she was attractive, she didn't speak a word. She was indifferent to everyone, seemingly unconcerned about anything.

By the time she turned forty, news came from her hometown that her father had passed away. Her biological mother and that man's wife got into a fight in the funeral hall, and both women passed away too.

Upon hearing this news, Su Yuanyuan got goosebumps. What deep-seated hatred, indeed, to her biological mother, that woman was the mistress who ruined her family, an enemy who made her life difficult.

She was used to being indifferent, never thinking of going back. But the old village chief called her, "Yuanyuan, even if they're wrong, they're still your parents. Now that they're all gone, you should come back and see.

We know you've been wronged, but once someone's dead, it's like a light extinguished. There's no need to lose your reputation over this last bit."

In the end, Su Yuanyuan booked a flight back, not for anything else but because of the kindness from the village people and the old village chief.

Because the two fought and their children helped their mother, causing death, they did not even have the chance to send their parents off. The man was sentenced to ten years, the woman to eight years.

She just coldly watched the funeral proceedings without shedding a tear.

After they were buried, she ordered five thousand pounds of pork, delivering fifteen hundred pounds, ten pounds each, to each family in the village, a token of gratitude. The rest she stored in the space.

Returning to Sea City, she continued her idle life, never thinking of starting a family. Though she liked children very much, she knew she would never be a qualified mother, so she would rather send supplies to orphanages every month but never thought of adopting a child. She feared not being able to educate them well.

This life went on for ten years, still living alone, and she grew tired of it. She had enough of this life.

So she made a will, deciding that after her death, all her assets would go into a relief fund dedicated to assisting problematic kids in orphanages.

She felt like she was Heaven's favored daughter, never having lost in stocks. Now her bank account held at least a hundred million. So she sold all her stocks, keeping everything in the bank, causing fluctuations in the stock market.

With money in hand, though she did nothing now, the interest alone was enough. She never thought of changing cars or houses, keeping her grandmother's frugal housekeeping habits.

At fifty-five, she felt unwilling to live there anymore. So she packed simple luggage and went to the mountains in the northeast.

Her solitary self lived alone in the mountains, starting farming again.

Instead, Su Yuanyuan felt grounded, finding such a life to be the most suitable for her. No longer bored or feeling world-weary.

But the good times didn't last; her life in the mountains was discovered by forest rangers.

Her way of living was illegal, so she started processing documents without a break. One is often complacent when enthusiastic. Su Yuanyuan was just like this.

Once all the paperwork was done, she drove alone up the mountain, humming an unknown song, thinking she was finally at peace living in the mountains, leading the life she wanted. Thinking of the land she cultivated, her face was full of smiles.

Maybe her "biological father" didn't like this, causing her to drive straight off a cliff, transitioning magically to here.

Forget it, don't think about it. But what's troublesome is having no clothes for her current size; everything prepared was for adults.

Right, there were clothes prepared for the orphanage, found during a sale on some website, believing not seizing cheap deals was foolish, she talked up a storm, got an even better deal, all sizes of padded jackets, down-inner cotton wear, sweaters, cotton leggings, and thermal underwear were all bought for herself.

These hadn't been delivered yet, planning to send them to the local orphanage when she'd settled down. Who would've thought she'd benefit from it herself.

Now her body was only about 1.1 meters, weighing thirty pounds. Found a size 100, still loose, but it was the best option, size 95 was too short.

Picked a cute pair of boxer shorts, put on thermal underwear, sweaters, cotton clothes and pants, also found a deep green fleece tracksuit to wear over it.

Additionally found a furry fleece-lined watermelon-style hat, feeling comfortable even outside.

Stepped out of the space, picking up clothes thrown on the ground, resolved to clean them later, they still needed wearing.

Her stomach growled in hunger, taking out the remaining half-box of mu shu pork over rice. Unsatisfied, she found some braised beef and squatted down to eat.

After eating, looking at the pitch-black room, Su Yuanyuan tried to comfort herself, what hasn't she experienced? What does this count as?

Found a set of rarely worn clothes with fewer patches to wear over her own, before starting to clean.

The fire in the main room had died out. She had no choice but to light it again. It wasn't that she didn't want to stay in the space for long, it wasn't allowed, at most she'd be softly sent out after two hours.

Bedding and straw mats in the house were rolled up and placed in another room, planning to sort them out tomorrow, first setting up a place to stay for the night. Other things could wait.

The space didn't have straw mats, but there were bamboo mats used in the past. The newly built heated bed was swept once by Su Yuanyuan, fearing lice or fleas, so she simply sprayed insect repellent.

The smell made staying inside unbearable, so she had to tidy up the main room.
