This hole might not have been deliberately left — the city was still under construction. In fact, it could barely even be called a hole, more like a small side door. But placed next to the massive main gate, it looked exactly like a hole. Even if it wasn't, walking through it felt like crawling into a hole.
If Yi Tianxing — or the human army behind him — were to actually enter Panshi City through that little side door…
Even if they made it inside, the dignity of the human race would be utterly trampled, with nothing left to salvage.
This was not just a verbal insult — it was an insult to their very identity.
It was clear the humans weren't seen as equals. They were regarded like slaves, ants, or even livestock — walking food. And who respects what they intend to eat? Equality? Out of the question.
"You're certain you won't allow us humans into the city?"
Yi Tianxing narrowed his eyes, a cold smile forming as he stared at the werewolf in front of him. His tone was ice-cold.
"It's not that we're not letting you in. Isn't there a door right here?"A laughing ogre standing on the wall pointed down mockingly. "You people just refuse to enter — can't blame us for that."
Clearly, he approved of the werewolf's approach, fully supporting this blatant humiliation. To him, humans were food, and food should know its place. Seeing them jumping around like this — completely inappropriate.
"I came at the summons of the Winged Men to join the effort to fight the Zerg. Does your tribe intend to bar our entry and keep this from the Winged Men?"
Yi Tianxing's voice remained steady.
"Hmph, you humans are nothing but weaklings — the weakest species on this world," a werewolf sneered. "Even if you came to participate in the war, what good would you do? You'd only slow the rest of us down. I'm sure even the Winged Men wouldn't blame us. They'd likely agree with our decision."
His attitude didn't waver in the slightest.
"Very well. In that case, there's no need for us to enter your city."Yi Tianxing gave a cold laugh. "If you won't let us in, we'll build a new city right here. The Zerg threat concerns us all, and the human race will not shy away. With or without you, we'll hold our ground. We humans must rely on ourselves. We stand proud and unyielding!"
There was no way he would enter through that humiliating little gate. Even if it cost his life, he wouldn't do it. Agreeing to that would disgrace the entire human race — face, pride, and dignity would be lost forever. No. Absolutely not.
If they wouldn't let him enter, then he would build his own fortress — one big enough for his twenty thousand troops. Not to rival Panshi City, but enough to make a statement: the human race will not be belittled. They would leave — but not in shame. If they were going, they'd go after making a statement.
The human race was no weaker than any other.
"Heh, humans really don't know their place," the ogre scoffed. "You think staying here makes a difference? You're still food. Still slaves. Even if we defeat the Zerg, you'll go back to being livestock. Human meat is delicious. I've got a whole pen of them back in my tribe. When I get hungry, I just grab a few."
His tone was dripping with disdain.
Many of the other alien races on the walls looked down on Yi Tianxing's defiance, seeing it as little more than a tantrum over being refused entry. A human trying to save face, that's all — a joke, really.
But Yi Tianxing paid them no mind.
"Let's go. Find a place. We'll build our own city!"
"Yes, my lord!" Jia Xu's eyes flashed with amusement as he nodded calmly.
None of them were disheartened by being turned away.
They knew the strength of the human race — even if others didn't.
"Green Emperor, you're staying. Go and seek out your soulmate."
Yi Tianxing looked toward the green-furred dog with a half-smile.
"Really? Master, you're the best!"
The Green Emperor instantly lit up, his eyes radiating a blinding green light. He had been holding himself back all this time, but now that he was free of all restraint, it was like spring rain washing over him. His whole body relaxed. Bones cracked with satisfaction.
He was utterly invigorated.
His green fur fluttered without wind, and he nearly howled at the sky in joy.
"Let Green Emperor sing," Yang Yanping said, his face twitching. But quickly he adopted a gleeful expression — after all, it wasn't them who had to listen to it, but the thousands of alien races inside Panshi City. That was a blessing.
"Yes. Green Emperor, your singing is… beyond us mere mortals. These alien tribes are filled with strange beings — surely among them, you'll find a soulmate. A true artistic match. You should seize this opportunity to make your mark."
Jia Xu kept a straight face, nodding seriously.
"Good. Green Emperor, you'll stay here. Once we've gone, unleash your full power. Seek out your soulmate. This is your time to shine — as a singer, an artist. Let this be the first step on your glorious path."
Yi Tianxing's words were full of resolution.
"Thank you, Master! I swear, all who hear my voice will be enchanted, mesmerized, unable to resist falling before the perfection of my art! I, the Green Emperor, shall become the most legendary singer — the most glorious artist in the world!"
The Green Emperor's eyes turned dreamy.
He could already see the future — masses of people falling to their knees, weeping in awe at his songs. Just imagining it made every hair on his body stand up in ecstasy.
Yi Tianxing didn't look back.
He turned and walked off without hesitation.
Yang Yanping and Wang Dahu quickly followed, leading the army away at full speed — as if fleeing disaster. Their expressions spoke volumes.
"Did they really just leave? Are they actually planning to build a city here?"
From the towering walls, alien cultivators who had already arrived for the war gathered to watch the drama unfold.
"This human commander — he's no ordinary man. That decisiveness… remarkable."
"I've heard about them — near here, the humans have risen rapidly. Their 'Xuanhuang Castle' has withstood all kinds of assaults. Even when multiple races — scorpion people, hyena wolves, ogres — teamed up, they still failed to take it. Suffered massive losses, even. That's Yi Tianxing, the ruler of Xuanhuang Castle."
"Judging by their posture, this human army isn't weak. Turning them away like this… might've been a little rash. That was a very public slap in the face — they're not likely to forget it."
Indeed, word of Xuanhuang Castle had spread far. Its rise was legendary.
Yet even knowing who they were, the leaders of Panshi City had allowed them to be turned away. There was a subtle undertone in that — not just arrogance, but fear.
The prey they once looked down on… had grown strong enough to rival them.
And that contradiction triggered resistance.
They wanted the humans to lash out, so they could crush them and restore the "natural order." But Yi Tianxing didn't fall for it. He simply walked away, calm and unbothered.
That made some of them even more wary.
"Why is this weird dog still here? Covered in green fur… bald on top. Could it look any worse?"
Some aliens noticed the Green Emperor still standing at the gate and began pointing and mocking him.
"Ladies and gentlemen of all races, rejoice! Behold the great Green Emperor!"He shouted with fervent passion. "Today, I shall gift you a song — one that shakes heaven and earth, moves ghosts to tears! Fall, all of you, to the spellbinding beauty of my voice!"
"Tremble! Rejoice!!"
His voice echoed with strange sincerity.
"A dog's going to sing? Are you serious?"
"Is this a joke? A dog thinks it's a singer?"
Laughter erupted along the walls.
No one took him seriously — a green dog, claiming to be a singer, a legendary artist?
But the Green Emperor was unfazed.
He radiated a holy solemnity.
Then — dramatically — he turned around.
With great mystery, he pointed his butt toward the city.
