"No," I stood up frantically.
"Ivy," he called.
"I'm not gonna let you do that."
I'd thought it would truly solve our problems if Damon ruled over the West like Alan wanted. It would, to a certain extent.
He'd gain a lot of power and would be able to protect himself from Tony. But I
knew it didn't come without a catch. Alan would never have offered the West to Damon if he wasn't up to something, and the only reason Tony also wanted Damon to
take over the West was to prevent the Marad from doing so.
It all made sense; the reason Tony had insisted I grew close to Damon and convinced him to take up Alan's offer was to stop the Marad from having that much power. Tony would kill Damon immediately after he got that power so he could take over the West all by himself.
It all came together. That was Tony's
plan all along; to use Damon to gain control over the West. That would make him
even more powerful.
I had to stop that from happening.
