The loud laughter jerked me out of my thoughts as I glanced at Tara.
"You know, it's nice to finally have someone who appreciates my talent," Tara said and glared at me.
"What do you mean? I appreciate your talent," I said.
Her eyes were slitted. "Do you?"
"I do!"
"Hmm, it doesn't sound like you do, Ivy," Damon said.
I stared at him, jaw slacked. "You're taking her side?"
"Sorry babe," he shrugged.
"Wow."
The playful betrayal felt good. I was glad they were finally getting along. I knew Tara was a bit jealous about my feelings for Damon even if she tried to hide it most of the time, so I was worried she wouldn't get to
know him and like him for who he actually was.
On the other hand, I knew Damon was
excited to get to know Tara but he was still so awkward around her. It worried
me a little that he wouldn't get to show her how charming he actually was.
