She reached home and let out a soft sigh. She took off her shoes and headed toward the kitchen. She grabbed a cold drink and sat down on the sofa. She hadn't even started drinking it when suddenly, someone knocked on the door. She sighed and walked toward the door. She opened it and saw that it was Lucy. Lucy hadn't even stepped inside yet when she hugged her tightly.
Lucy was surprised—what had happened that made her hug her so tightly?
She said, "Let's go inside first, then we'll talk."
They both went inside, and Lucy asked, "What happened, Rose, that made you hug me so tightly?"
Rose replied in a tone full of anger, "Do you remember the person who ruined my painting?"
"Yes," Lucy said. "Why? What happened?"
Well, recently I met a guy who was getting drenched in the rain, so I gave him my umbrella. And the next day, I found out that he is none other than our new boss. And the shocking part is—he is the same person who ruined my painting."
"What!" Lucy asked in surprise. "You mean the car that destroyed your art in a second—he's the one who was driving it?"
"Hmm," Rose replied.
"So, what are you going to do now?"
"For now, I can't do anything," Rose said. "Because I have to solve a problem in the company first. After that, I'll deal with this matter."
"But what are you planning to do?"
"I don't know that myself yet," Rose replied, "but now that there's no other way, I'll have to do something."
"But about what exactly?" Lucy asked curiously.
"That... I can't tell you just yet."
"Oh right! I had some news for you," Lucy said.
"What news?" Rose asked in surprise.
"Well, your mom and dad called yesterday. You were probably busy, so they called me instead. Actually, they're coming to visit you tomorrow."
"Whaaat?!" Rose asked, shocked.
"But why? Lucy, you know I've been doing this job secretly. If they find out about it, they'll kill me!"
"Why don't you just go meet them yourself?" Lucy suggested.
"Huh, I didn't even think of that… Okay then, I'll talk to them myself."
