My name is Sato, an ordinary office worker living the most mundane life possible.
My father recently passed away, so I started visiting the shrine near my house to pray for a happier future - or at least that's what I hoped for.
No one comes to this shrine anymore, so everyone considers it abandoned, but I didn't care.*That day, I entered as usual, but I had this strange feeling that something in the shrine had changed.
Then I saw it - where there had always been three doors, a fourth one had mysteriously appeared.
Driven by curiosity, I stepped inside...
The room was completely empty, except for a single book lying on the floor.
I picked it up. The first page contained some kind of alphabet with Japanese translations. The rest was written in a language I didn't recognize.
At first I thought it might be Chinese or French, but after searching online, the script didn't match any known alphabet.
I took it home and spent hours trying to decipher the first sentence.
After seven grueling hours, I finally managed to read it aloud - and immediately fainted.
What happened next... shocked me to my core.
