Merta Fairbang…
Merta was born here, yet her eyes always seemed to be higher than the sky. She was lazy, rude and just plain shrewish. She detested working in the fields and even cooking, saying she was going to marry a rich city man who doesn't need his wife to do all these things.
In the end, she fell into the water of an Educated youth who came here back in the days when the country was under Reformation.
The Educated Youth was the son of a wealthy man, and already had a Fiancé. But because he jumped in to rescue her, he had to eventually marry her since they had skin to skin contact.
Even the blind could tell that the Educated Youth had been set up by Merta. But what could they do? Merta's family made a fuss, wanting to sue the Educated Youth for hooliganism.
Long story short, Merta married a rich city boy just as she always wanted. And even if the marriage wasn't satisfactory, so what? She had money to keep her company and secret lovers to wet her appetite with.
