Ruyi was quiet for a few seconds, then she looked at Zhi Hao, then back at her son. They seemed to have a tactical understanding.
"No," she said at last sighing loudly. "That's too easy for her. Let her sit in fear for a while. I want her to think she got away with it but let her know we know it's her! Let her suffer every single day.
She smiled—a slow, icy expression that didn't reach her eyes. There was nothing funny when it came to fear; just imagine not knowing if you are safe or not! Living and running around in fear.
"Then I will take everything from her… in a way that makes her beg for scandal." He knew what his mother was capable of and wasn't afraid at all! He wouldn't be who he is if it weren't for her existence.
Zi Zhen nodded approvingly.

In the shadows, a woman was knocked out and vanished away from the building! She hadn't even managed to defend herself. This was the woman who had approached Lu Wan Ruyi and Lu Zhi Hao about the scandalous images posted online.

Lu Wan Ruyi was feeling exhausted! After that dance and walking around greeting the various guests, she had done most steps she hadn't done for years. Her feet were hurting, feeling tired.
She also knew she wouldn't tell him because he would leave everything behind to accompany her back home. She wanted him to enjoy the evening and have conversations here and there. He rarely gets to gather with other men because of how busy he has always been.
"Ah Hao, I will be right back," she murmured, whispering to Lu Zhi Hao's ear. "Just going over to the washroom."
He glanced at her, concerned flickering in his gaze, he didn't want her getting out of his sight and touch for even a minute. "Can I accompany you? Or do you want me to send someone?"
She shook her head before kissing his cheek lovingly. "I'm fine. It's just five minutes away. Our men are all over the place and I don't think anything can happen." She wasn't worried that anything could happen. Even if something happened, there had to be many of them after her.
"All right, be careful then, come back soon, don't take long..." He let go of her hand, and she walked out of the hall into the corridor, stretching herself out. Being a socialite wasn't an easy task; imagine having to attend all these kinds of functions, having conversations here and there, and you had to keep up with the perfect image! This life certainly wasn't for her; at this hour, she could be resting in bed or painting.
She walked calmly through the corridor, the polished marble floors reflecting her figure like a silent shadow. She was yawning from exhaustion and luckily, her pregnancy wasn't hard on her.
She passed by a pair of security guards who nodded subtly as she passed by and was respectful of her space and privacy.
The restroom door was just ahead. She pushed it open gently, stepping into the quiet hush of the elegant powder room. Gold-framed mirrors, perfumed hand towels, and soft music.
She walked to the sink, washing her hands slowly, letting the cool water ground her. She wanted to splash a few sprinkles of water onto her face but then...
Then—
The door clicked shut behind her, and before she could turn around, a voice, low and familiar, floated through the silence, getting closer to her.
"Well, well. I was wondering when I would run into you bitch. Finally, it's now you and me; I will deal with you probably tonight..."
