Yaya's jaw tightened anger seeping through her veins! Lu Wan Ruyi was a hard nut to crack. She didn't seem to fear anything. How much did she trust them? Didn't she know men are all the same?
"And Song Yaya?" Ruyi added, brushing past her toward the door. "You walked away once. Don't expect to walk back in without consequences. There's no medicine for regret, and if you want to get closer to the kids, try to be genuine and care about them, but if it's money and schemes, they would only end up hating you! Try to do the right thing, I'm not perfect, but I sympathize with you and the kids..."
She pushed open the door and stepped out, her head high, shoulders steady, but suddenly, Song Yaya held her hair and dragged her back into the bathroom.
"Damn you!" The door slammed shut again. The echo hadn't even faded when Ruyi twisted around, her hand ripping free from Yaya's grip.
"Big mistake," Lu Wan Ruyi hissed, her voice deathly calm. She hated anyone touching her hair the most if it was not the boys and her husband.
She was going to forgive and let things slide because of the kids! We all make mistakes but we deserve a second chance. But she had some guts to attack her?
Yaya barely had time to blink before Ruyi's fist connected with her face. It wasn't the hesitation of someone afraid. It was precision—controlled rage. Yaya staggered back, blood blooming from her nose, gasping and gazing at Lu Wan Ruyi in horror.
"You think dragging me by the hair makes you powerful? Do you think you can fight me? Yaya, are you stupid or something?" Ruyi said, advancing step by step as those high-heel clanks heavily echoed on the marble tiles.
She couldn't deny that she hadn't gone to prison, but it was for valid reasons like this.
Yaya wiped her mouth, eyes wide open with disbelief. She hadn't expected this woman to be a good fighter, and when she held her dress, she noticed a tiny bump. "You are pregnant?" she also noticed the way she was shielding her tummy protectively.
"You didn't know that when you attacked? I could have forgiven you, but I don't like people challenging me," Ruyi snapped back, gazing at her murderously. "And now? I won't hold back."
Yaya screamed and lunged, throwing a wild punch, but Ruyi caught her wrist in mid-air and twisted it. The pop of a joint followed as Yaya cried out, her knees buckling. Ruyi slammed her elbow into Yaya's neck, sending her sprawling onto the cold tile floor.
Yaya coughed, trying to roll over, but Ruyi was already on her, driving her foot into Yaya's ribs—once, twice—until the other girl gasped and curled in on herself in fear.
"I warned you," Ruyi growled, yanking Yaya up by the collar and slamming her against the mirror. The glass cracked, spider webbing around Yaya's reflection.
You act like I took something from you," Ruyi hissed against her ear. "But you are the one who had left. You are the one who ran away. And now you want to claw your way back through me? You won't make it."
Yaya clawed weakly at her arm, but Ruyi slammed her knee into Yaya's gut, then swept her legs out from under her, letting her drop like dead weight to the floor.
She didn't stop.
A punch cracked across Yaya's jaw. Another to the gut. Then, a hard kick to her side sent her sliding across the tiles, smearing blood as she went until knocking against the wall.
