When the moon was already shining in the sky, Magnus sat on the bed taking care not to wake anyone. He rose silently and walked through the room taking his clothes off the floor and putting them back on, knowing that his time was getting tight. Still, he looked one last time to the bed watching Lucian sleep naked covered by the thin sheet.
Adjusting a lock of the alpha's long hair, he silently said goodbye before putting on his coat and picking up his sword. A cold wind welcomed Magnus as the balcony door was opened. He went out and looked around ensuring that the darkness of the night was enough to camouflage his presence.
"We are ready, sir."
Recognizing Vogha's voice, his personal guard and the most skilled knight, Magnus just jumpped the balcony and mixed in with the darkness to reach the small group of knights waiting for him at the back of the huge hotel. The icy wind caused a slight shiver in his neck, where probably resided some mark left by Lucian after they became intimate once again.
Ah, he wanted to go back to bed.
"Let's get it over with" Magnus muttered as he rejoined the other three knights, "And the other teams?"
"They are positioned, sir. The target is being watched, there is no sign that he will leave the mansion tonight."
"Excellent. Teams four and five are in the area?"
"Yes, sir."
Magnus nodded his head and quickly began to walk through the shadows accompanied by his knights, who kept a safe distance from him.
That night, he was supposed to fullfil his mission.
For months the Grand Duke had been investigating every step of the most suspicious people, especially after Lucian told about his visions. Although he did not believe much in mystical and supernatural powers, Magnus was grateful that Lucian had such a gift, since it helped him too much.
Now he was about to honor the trust placed in him.
Those five people were sneaking through the quiet streets of the city avoiding anyone who might be wandering that morning. Magnus kept his guard high, attentive to any noise that could signal an enemy approaching. And when he heard something, he raised his hand to the other boys, and they all stopped moving at the same instant.
With hasty steps to reach their goal, Magnus and the knights arrived at their destination: the port of Baydenn. The large place full of boxes that was constantly dispatched by merchant ships, or that were delivered to the Empire, were stacked creating a real maze.
The port had a huge lighthouse that illuminated the sea guiding ships back to the port. Using it as a reference point, Magnus managed to use the huge piles of boxes to hide while he was going in the opposite direction to the lighthouse. According to the information gathered during the investigations, your target would be using the farthest part to hide.
On the way, Magnus saw the other two teams hidden and positioned. Everything was going as planned.
"What shipment is this, captain?", he heard someone say.
Immediately the Grimwood knights crouched behind the boxes, and held the hilt of their swords. However, none of them moved. The leaders of both squads stared fixedly at Magnus' raised hand, who listened intently to the conversation.
"I warned that we would delay this time. A storm arrived in our part, we could not risk letting the boxes fall into the sea."
"You warned just when I sent a letter to that person saying that everything was ready! Do you realize how angry that guy will be?!"
"That's not my problem, I brought the goods." The owner of the sullen voice suddenly spoke louder "Hey, guys! You can unload!"
Soon the sound of footsteps made the conversation muffled to Magnus' ears. The omega leaned slightly peering into the area, being able to see a medium ship anchored in the distance and several men going there. Magnus quickly signaled for the two teams to go in that direction, leaving him alone with only four knights.
Now he needed to ambush them.
One of the people who talked seemed to be a noble by the way he spoke and moved. The nobles of Roveaven were always proud of their excellent etiquette, as if it made them gods rather than mere humans. However, when that noble man came near a lamp, Magnus widened his eyes slightly.
A green suit.
"(...) there were dozens of boxes and... there was a man in a green suit".
Those were the words spoken by Lucian echoing in Magnus' mind immediately.
It is him.
Taking the opportunity to try to identify the man who accompanied him, being called "captain", Magnus only recognized the clear robes with foreign patterns.
"Spread out", Magnus ordered.
The four knights moved away from him and took different strategic positions to corner those two. However, a sound coming from the moored ship caught the attention of the two men.
"What was that?!"
The unknown man turned to see the origin of that noise. But before he could understand, Magnus and his knights left the hideout and pointed their weapons at both of them.
"Stand still!"
"What?! Who are you?"
Magnus walked slowly pointing the sword at the man. The crimson eyes shone with a certain coldness, being able to hear clearly the accent of the man.
"What is Geledel's trash doing here?"
"Grand Duke!!" said the other man, with a trembling voice as if caught doing something wrong.
Hearing the title of Magnus, Geledel's man frowned.
From there, everything became a terrible confusion.
Magnus was caught by surprise by the man drawing two swords and taking the initiative to strike him. Your knights have besieged the man in the green suit, leaving Magnus to deal with that guy's skills on his own. In addition, some foremen who were unloading the boxes of the ship went down to try to ambush the Grand Duke.
"Don't come!" He ordered the omega for his knights.
"Hahaha! Wanting to pretend be strong?! You're just an omega, what the hell do you think you can do when your life is just spreading your legs and getting fucked by alphas?"
Geledel's man used alpha pheromones against Magnus. The intense and seductive smell would certainly make him tremble and fall to his knees. However, Magnus Grimwood's pride was stronger than his omega instinct.
Anger gave him the strength to counter the captain and force him to retreat, approaching the knights. But the instant he intended to kick the man's wrist to force him to disarm, other henchmen appeared pushing Magnus away and rolling across the deck.
Magnus has fought numerous enemies several times, but that captain was playing very dirty by using his pheromones against Magnus. The people of Geledel were the complete opposite of the Empire of Roveaven, the alphas dominated by being stronger while the omegas were treated like garbage only to give children.
So that man would use his own pheromones to subdue Magnus, who was an omega.
His body really responded to the stimulus, making his skin shiver and legs tremble. His balance was compromised, which made him almost hit by punches and kicks of those thugs.
But it was the arrival of someone who made Magnus regain strength.
Knights wearing the armor of the imperial army invaded the port.
"Arrest them all!!" Shouted a familiar voice.
Magnus' vision was slightly blurred, but he still had the perfect chance to use his sword and cut off anyone who dared get in his way. The captain was already running away, but the omega would not let him go. Still in its slightly weakened state, the omega managed to force its trembling legs to run and shorten the distance.
The moment Magnus raised his sword, he delivered a blow that made the captain fall to the ground. Could not give the second blow because the damned blocked with both swords.
"Why aren't you spreading your legs yet, huh?"
The crimson eyes were enraged.
"And why the hell is a dead man talking?"
Turning the blade away from the man's body, Magnus used the knob of the sword to strike a strong blow on the captain's wrist and force him to drop one of the swords. Magnus held him and before his target ran away, he cut off his leg.
The man's cry of pain echoed throughout the port, blood spilled on Magnus, who was enraged and striking him with his swords, almost mutilating his body. That is, if a helping hand did not hold your shoulder.
"Enough, Magnus! We need him alive to find out who is behind this situation."
The omega's arms stopped moving, but his chest went up and down furiously. Rubbing the back of his hand over his chin, Magnus turned to look over his shoulder.
"You took your time, Cadec."
"It was you who warned too late" Sighed Cadec.
The First Prince stood back and looked around, noting that the Grimwood knights and the imperial army had all involved in their hands. Moving away from the Grand Duke, he walked to the deck, completely ignoring the foremen pushed to the ground by the knights.
With Magnus in his wake, Cadec raised his dark blue eyes to the medium ship before going up and checking one of the boxes. It was Magnus who used his sword to rip off the cap, and they frowned at what was inside.
"What is it?"
"Weapons" Magnus replied, using the tip of his sword to turn one of the prototypes "We saw this in the border war, remember?"
"Humpf... that noisy thing."
Cadec made a sign and some knights in armor began to search the entire ship. The boxes were opened, all of them containing weapons stacked and addressed to the Empire. A Grimwood soldier found documents inside the captain's cabin, and quickly reported what he read.
"Sir, this ship belongs to the Kingdom of Geledel and it seems that they only intended to unload these weapons."
"Found something else?" Magnus questioned still angry and slightly trembling.
"There are records that this boat has been traveling between our Empire and Geledel for months. There is a map in the cabin with sea routes as well. Apparently, there is someone buying weapons from Geledel."
Magnus and Cadec turned towards the pier, where they could see the riders gathering all the henchmen and binding them in coarse ropes and cutting their ankles not to run away.
"It looks like the night will be long."
