Chapter 82 - Peeking

So what if he's a Titled Douluo? In Jiang Xiaofeng's eyes, he had a level 96 Titled Douluo on his side. The old man before him was merely the manager of Soto City's Grand Spirit Arena.

This guy's spirit power was only at level 93, far inferior to Yue Guan, and more importantly, he was under the command of Spirit Hall.

"Insolent! This is not a place where you get to speak! Injuries are common in the Spirit Arena, and the opponent didn't even take your disciple's life, so there's no violation. You'd best take your disciples and leave to tend to their wounds!"

Yu Xiaogang's face darkened. It was obvious this Titled Douluo wasn't there to help them, but to drive them away.

Even Flender dared not say anything—after all, if a real fight broke out, a Titled Douluo could crush him in less than half a stick of incense.

"Xiaogang, let's go. Little monsters, get up, quickly!"

Tang San, holding the unconscious Xiao Wu, glared hatefully at Jiang Xiaofeng.

"I won't let you get away with this!"

Jiang Xiaofeng sneered, "Did I ever say I'd let you go? Things won't be as easy for you once you step out of this gate!"

Other than Ning Rongrong of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, whom he couldn't touch for now, the rest were fair game.

Tang San's group paused briefly, then hurriedly left.

At that moment, Mo Bote slowly walked up. He had already guessed how things would unfold.

"Your Highness, let's leave too."

Jiang Xiaofeng nodded and looked at the still-dazed Hu Liena, a tinge of guilt in his heart.

If he hadn't been so arrogant, Hu Liena wouldn't have been poisoned.

"The Saintess's poison has been completely neutralized. With some rest, she should be fine."

Jiang Xiaofeng nodded again, and the group departed from the Spirit Arena.

While they left smoothly and returned to the hotel, Tang San and his group weren't so lucky.

Upon arriving at their hotel, they found themselves under surveillance.

Because Tang San's external spirit bone had been exposed, their movements were now limited. Many spirit masters coveted that bone. If Tang San was killed, the bone would be exposed and up for grabs.

Yu Xiaogang looked at Tang San reproachfully.

"What's wrong with you? Where did your usual calm go? Why would you make such a huge mistake? So what if you're a disciple of the Clear Sky Sect? Don't you understand how tempting an external spirit bone is?"

Tang San hung his head, not daring to meet Yu Xiaogang's eyes. He had indeed acted rashly this time—but Xiao Wu had been hurt, and he couldn't hold back.

"Teacher, this was my fault. But that Jiang Xiaofeng went too far. If he hadn't hurt Xiao Wu, I would never have—"

Yu Xiaogang sighed and shook his head, "Enough. What's done is done. The external bone's been exposed. Thankfully, you also revealed your Clear Sky Hammer, which may deter some spirit masters from attacking you. But don't assume no one will try. Flender, stay here and keep watch. I'm going out for a bit."

Flender frowned, "Are you crazy? Going out now? You're just a Spirit Grandmaster—those outside are at least Spirit Elders!"

Yu Xiaogang shook his head, "Don't worry about me. I know what I'm doing."

As Yu Xiaogang quietly left, Tang San wanted to say something, but the words caught in his throat.

After Yu Xiaogang left, Tang San asked, "What is the Clear Sky Sect? My father was just a blacksmith in Saint Spirit Village. How could he be from that sect?"

Flender sighed, "You'll understand some things in time. Right now, focus on protecting yourselves. You were too careless this time."

Tang San nodded silently. Looking down at Xiao Wu in his arms, a strange pain gripped his chest.

Ma Hongjun walked over, his face full of guilt.

"San-ge, this is all my fault. If it weren't for me, things wouldn't have gotten so bad. I'm sorry. I hope you and Sister Xiao Wu can forgive me."

Tang San shook his head, "This has nothing to do with you. He was targeting me. Xiao Wu got hurt because I couldn't protect her."

The room fell silent. No one even dared to breathe heavily.

In a secluded room of the inn, Yu Xiaogang stepped inside.

Cough, cough, cough… A few harsh coughs made Yu Xiaogang uneasy.

"Haotian Douluo, are you okay?"

Tang Hao gave a bitter smile, "Old injury flared up again. No big deal. I won't die."

"Haotian Douluo, you saw what happened today, right?"

Tang Hao nodded, "I did. But it's not a bad thing. Xiaosan has had it too easy, just like me back in the day. Everything going smoothly only leads to failure in the end. Today's defeat lays the foundation for future growth. As for the external spirit bone being exposed, don't worry—I'll handle it."

Yu Xiaogang nodded.

"Haotian Douluo, I won't disturb your rest then."

"Mm. Go. Don't let Xiaosan know."

"Yes!"

After his last battle with Yue Guan, his old injuries had flared up again.

That's why he hadn't dared to reveal himself today.

And Yue Guan, who had also been injured in their last clash, didn't show up either.

Back in his room, Jiang Xiaofeng helped Hu Liena onto the bed.

"Rest well tonight."

Hu Liena grabbed Jiang Xiaofeng's arm.

"Brother Feng, can you stay with me for a while?"

Jiang Xiaofeng smiled, "If I really stayed, wouldn't that ruin your reputation?"

Hu Liena, face flushed, "I'm not afraid, so why are you? Besides, I'm injured—don't you feel bad for me?"

Looking at Hu Liena's shy, delicate expression—this didn't look like someone who was hurt, more like someone about to pounce!

"Better not. I'll call Sister Ling to take care of you."

With that, Jiang Xiaofeng ran off like he was escaping a battlefield.

Hu Liena looked sulkily at his retreating figure.

"I'm already like this, and you still won't stay. What more do you want from me?"

Not long after, Feng Lingling walked into Hu Liena's room.

"Nana, Xiaofeng told me to come watch over you tonight."

Hu Liena, pouting, "I asked him to come, and he sends you. What is that Jiang Xiaofeng thinking?"

Feng Lingling had long noticed that Hu Liena liked Jiang Xiaofeng.

She chuckled softly.

"You're just being too obvious. You two are childhood sweethearts, right?"

Hu Liena nodded.

"I met Brother Feng when we were eight. We've been together since then."

Feng Lingling showed a look of envy.

"Exactly. Since you're childhood sweethearts, don't rush things. The more pushy you are, the more Xiaofeng might find you annoying."

Hu Liena, like a deflated balloon, let out a sigh.

"Sigh… I thought, after how hard he fought to save me today, maybe our relationship could take a step forward. But I guess not…"

Feng Lingling said, "Take it slow. I'll help you."

Hu Liena smiled, "Alright! You said it, Sister Ling—no backing out!"

"Mm, no backing out!
