In the original manga, the characters chose to keep incidents like this under wraps. But Haruno saw things differently. Rather than dodging the truth or sugarcoating it, he believed telling Haruna everything would save a lot of trouble in the long run. Besides, it wasn't just the right thing to do — it would also benefit him to have her trust. So, he waited by her bedside in the school infirmary, watching over her as she rested.
Thankfully, it didn't take long for Haruna to stir. Her eyes fluttered open slowly, and the first thing she saw was Haruno's face. For a moment, she looked dazed, like she wasn't sure if she was dreaming.
"Are you awake, Sairenji-san?" Haruno asked gently.
"Huh… Haruno… I… what happened?" she mumbled, still trying to piece things together.
"Well, it might sound hard to believe, but you got caught up in something related to us… and because of that, you passed out," Haruno said, choosing his words carefully but not hiding anything.
"Eh?" Haruna blinked in confusion.
"Do you remember what happened before you lost consciousness?"
"I… I was called by the tennis club advisor… I went into the club room and then—" Her expression shifted as memories slowly returned.
"Right. After that, you were attacked by someone impersonating the club advisor. He was one of the alien suitors unhappy about Lala choosing me," Haruno explained plainly, watching her reaction.
"That's… a really convincing disguise…" Haruna muttered in disbelief.
"I'm really sorry. You ended up involved because you're part of our club… Unlike Yui or Lala, you weren't directly near me when we anticipated danger. That made you a target." Haruno looked down, his voice sincere. "But I'm truly glad you're okay."
Haruna was still a bit dazed, but seeing Haruno sitting so close, wearing such a serious and sincere expression, made her heart flutter. Her cheeks flushed with warmth, and in that quiet moment, even without a detailed explanation, she could already piece together the truth. It had to be Haruno who saved her.
"So… you saved me?" she asked, her voice soft, eyes full of hopeful wonder as they met him.
"Well… of course. I couldn't just stand by and let someone get hurt because of us," Haruno said with calm resolve. "No—honestly, I just didn't want you to be in danger, period." He gently took her hand, squeezing it to give a sense of reassurance and strength. "From now on, I'll make sure you're safe… under my protection."
"Aizawa-kun…" Haruna's heart pounded harder at his words. In that moment, all the doubts she once held about Rito, the boy she'd admired, began to fade. Her feelings were shifting fast—she could still vividly remember the accidental kiss she had shared with Haruno just two days ago.
"Ah… now I feel even guiltier," Haruno said with a slightly awkward smile. "Looks like I've troubled you twice now. I told you can start asking me for two favors?"
Haruna's heart skipped at the thought. For a second, the idea of going on a date with him crossed her mind—just one, innocent date. But then reality hit, and she quickly shook her head, remembering that he was Lala's fiancé.
"Actually… there's something important I want to tell you," Haruno continued, his expression growing serious again. "I owe you at least that much. It's about Lala's real identity. I have a feeling things won't be peaceful for you unless you know the truth."
"Lala's true identity?" Haruna echoed, puzzled. But the look in Haruno's eyes told her — this wasn't just a passing detail. Whatever it was, it mattered. A lot.
"Well… this might be hard to believe, but—Lala's actually an alien," Haruno said, his voice calm but serious.
"Eh…?" Haruna blinked, completely stunned. That wasn't something you just dropped into a conversation. Aliens? Really? Her brain struggled to process the weight of those words.
But any doubts she had were swiftly cleared up the moment Haruno led her into the Alien x Occult Research Club room. Inside, both Lala and Yui were already waiting, and in the center of the room, something peculiar floated midair—tied up and wiggling slightly.
There, suspended by ropes, was Ghi Bree, who had since returned to his original form—small, raccoon-like, and definitely not human.
"This guy is a Balkean," Haruno explained, gesturing toward the floating alien. "He's the one who attacked you earlier. His species is known for their exceptional mimicry—he posed as your tennis club advisor—but they're weak in direct combat."
"Ugh… please forgive me… Don't hurt me…" whimpered Ghi Bree as the rope gently swayed back and forth with his trembling.
Haruna could hardly believe her eyes. An actual alien… talking. Fluently. In Japanese.
"Anyway, here's the girl you attacked. Go on, apologize," Haruno said, giving the alien a firm smack on the head.
"Y-yes! Haruna Sairenji! I deeply apologize!" the alien blurted, his high-pitched voice echoing across the room.
Haruna opened her mouth to reply, but Haruno spoke first. "That's not enough. Change your form—something more respectable. And then do a dogeza."
In a flash, Ghi Bree's form shifted to those tennis club advisors and with that ease stood in the table, then bowed low in a full, groveling dogeza position.
"This is… really happening?" Haruna muttered, overwhelmed.
"You don't have to accept the apology," Haruno said. "He'll be handed over to Zastin soon. Lala—can you handle the transfer?"
"Yes… we can handle that with this," Lala chirped as she pulled out a bizarre-looking device shaped like a toilet. "Slosh-Slosh Warp-kun, activate!" With a gleeful toss, she hurled the still-tied Ghi Bree into the device. There was a soft whoosh sound, and in an instant, both the alien and toilet disappeared.
"Well… sorry for dragging you into all this," Haruno said with a sheepish smile, turning to Haruna. "But I hope this at least proves that Lala really is an alien."
Haruna gave a hesitant nod. "Y-Yes… that was… convincing."
"Good. You might still be confused, but feel free to ask anything," Haruno offered kindly.
Haruna looked at the others in the room—Lala, Yui, and Haruno—and finally voiced the question circling in her head. "Are… all of you aliens?"
"Nope," Haruno replied casually. "Yui and I are both just ordinary Earthlings."
"I see…" Haruna said, still trying to piece things together.
"To help you understand better… I guess I should start from the beginning." Haruno gently motioned for her to sit, and once she did, he began recounting everything—from his first encounter with Lala, to their accidental engagement, the involvement of the Deviluke Empire, and the evolving, unorthodox relationship between him, Lala, Yui, and even Ryouko-sensei.
By the end of his explanation, Haruna's expression was completely blank, her mind clearly struggling to process the sheer absurdity. "Wait… so you saved Lala, became her fiancé, and now you're dating Yui and Ryouko-sensei too? And… everyone is just… okay with that?"
"Yeah," Haruno replied with a small smile.
"I'm fine with it," Yui added, arms folded but with a faint blush. "Honestly, I'd rather share him than not be his girlfriend at all."
"In the universe, polyamorous relationships are pretty common," Lala chimed in cheerfully.
"But… even so…" Haruna mumbled.
Yui gave her a gentle look. "After getting close to them, I realized they're really good people. And honestly… when I first saw Haruno, I knew. He was my soulmate."
Haruna's body trembled ever so slightly. She felt the same way.
"Ah… I felt the same way too," Lala said with a soft smile, her cheeks tinged pink. Her words only added to the strange sense of unity blooming in the room.
"Is that so…?" Haruna murmured, still trying to digest it all. Her eyes drifted to Ryouko-sensei, looking for some kind of grounding.
"Well, I felt it too," Ryouko replied with a relaxed chuckle. "It's what brought us together. In a way, it makes us feel like sisters, doesn't it?" Her voice was light, but her expression was warm and sincere.
Haruna's composure continued to waver. She sat quietly, feeling the cracks forming in her resolve. The truth was, she too had felt that inexplicable pull—something she'd tried to dismiss, but now… with everyone else saying the same thing, it was getting harder to ignore. Maybe, just maybe, it was fate.
"Hehehe… of course, I felt it too," Haruno added with a grin. He began recounting each of those unforgettable moments in detail—his bathroom encounter with Lala, his fated clash with Yui in the classroom, and his meeting with Ryouko midway through the school year. His nostalgic storytelling made each girl smile shyly, remembering their own beginnings.
Haruna, on the other hand, found herself sitting in silence, slightly flustered, a little envious, but more than anything… overwhelmed. And when she finally looked up, Haruno was gazing at her—softly, warmly, without pressure.
Her heart skipped.
"U-Um… how about you treat me to some delicious sweets?" she blurted, choosing the safest way to express her desire to be closer.
